Just pulled the trigger on the ar-e10. I've had Shure se535, Tin T2 (still have them), Edc3 and Edc (still have the edc). Looking to see if the AR's can replace both the T2 AND edc. They each have their own uses, but I'd rather have just one set. We'll see- I'll post my impressions once they arrive and my ears have adjusted.

TheSonuCheck my profile, click reviews. Alternatively, I imagine it is listed with the drop page itself.

AznablereyHuh, wasn’t up for me until you just mentioned it. Sounds like they’re doing well for you. I got on the drop, so these are my entry into IEMs. Don’t have a DAC yet and I’m terrified of how deep I’m inevitably I’m going to go down this rabbit hole. Thanks for the review!

TheSonuYou could certainly do worse for an entry into this kind of audio gear. My first set of iems were the older Shure 530 from about 15 years ago. They were expensive at the time, but not the end-all be-all of sound one might expect. I'm very pleased with the ar-e10s, and I hope you will be too.

TheSonuAlso, these don't need an amp to sound good. I mostly use my dap, a shanling m0, which is entry level in terms of lossless audio players. Just so you know!

AznablereyGood to know! I'll be messing around with them with just my phone and compare to what the motherboard on my pc can do (not great, but it's definitely got a better dac than the one in apple's headphone adapter, haha) and go from there. Any thoughts on using the AR-10s with the shanling m0 as opposed to without (just using your phone or whatever), and what improvements you heard?

TheSonuI haven't really done anything critical off the phone, just video from YouTube. With that though, I haven't noticed them struggle for volume or anything. They're good for casual listening, but react well to better sources. I use them primarily for music and gaming, music being off the m0, gaming through the tv to a dac then to a headphone amp. There is a noticeable improvement, at least in my experience, but I wouldn't say you need a dedicated amp. The biggest change will be the sound source- if its compressed, they'll show you that. if it's lossless audio, they'll show you tons more. Hope that helps.

AznablereyAwesome, I'm looking forward to it. Might pick up an m0 down the line.

AznablereyHow do they compare to your 535s? I've also got the 535. Thanks

holsenTypo- It was supposed to be se530, the older model from years ago. Its been so long, I don't think I could make a serious comparison. Though I'd wager the pair you've got would be hard to beat with the ar's. It'd be a side grade for you.
