Previous AKG offerings on Massdrop like the open-back K7XX and the closed-back K553 share a lot of great traits: both boast an expansive soundstage, bassy goodness, and a killer price-to-performance value. However, the large size of the headphones and their long stock cable make them unusable on the go Read More
Can't leave a review, so I'll comment here. I am a female with small head and small ears. These are the most uncomfortable headphones that I own. In addition, the sound is badly muffled. Maybe it's a defective pair. I am extremely disappointed. Should have spent the money on an extra pair of Koss Porta Pros.
studioplutoWas an error in the time, it said it was supposed to last until 16:00 (8:00 PM) yesterday but ended at 08:00 (8:00 AM) instead, I was weirded out when I got an order confirmation at 8 in the morning...
Maybe contact support?
i found these to be a good sound and well made despite their plastic housing. I also find they can be too tight a squeeze for those with big brains like the current PUSA and me. if you have a big head full of brains you probably wont want to wear them dor more than 40 minutes at a time. They aren’t anywhere as good as anything more expensive than $50USD so the current blackfriday sale is reasonable to say the least. I use these for djing and its because I dont want to break my +500 level brand which is amazing. Despite these being comparable to anything you over pay for at the sony store you will like the bass. I also never use the boost mode. I figure that might be useful if you are in a club and the club is loud and you are trying to dj but lets be real if you dj you are letting the dj controller do mix it while you mess with the color buttons.
Hey guys I bought Creative Sound BlasterX H5 Special Edition but it doesn't arrived yet. And I want to know which one is better. cause I really want to have 2 headphones in my desk so if you guys know anything about that, plz give me a advice
I bought these as a portable daily can, however I found the clamping was just too tight and wasnt all that comfortable. The cans sound great, especially for what you pay, but I wouldnt reccomend for long listening sessions. They are however very good for actual DJ use, so that's what I end up using them more for.
cant leave a review so i will here, instead.
i was worried i may have made a wrong purchase until i got these this morning and spent the day with them on
for reference, these cans are for my on the go use with a 4GB ipod nano...these are replacing my old AKG GHS-1 gaming headset i was using.
decent build quality
yes, firm clamping force, my hd 6xx , pc 360 and ghs1 are etheral by comparison, yet i did not find any discomfort at all, the pleather(?) pading is nice too. i was freaked out by reading this so many times, but i dont have any problem, it must be all the rocks in my head
AWESOME sound, although admittedly im coming from a modest background for portable HP
bass boost was fun to mess with for about 30 seconds, collectively...although when some of that was a dance track, i could see this being appreciated by the demographic DJ (im not). bass boost will be engaged rarely, if ever
love the cord, due to the detachable nature, and its perfect length for me, and ive found i can drop the ipod and it wont hit the floor, and hang suspended on the coiled cable...
i am VERY pleased with these, would recommend to anyone
i havent even tried them on my schiit stack yet! :)
For those thinking about buying. Its decent for what its made for. Dj use. To me Its best dj headphone i own as compare to ATH-PRO700MK2 and ultrasone DJ1 pro. I dont use it for listening so cant comment on that.
Not very comfortable initially but broken in and very much comfortable now.
I dont use ultrasones in live environment. I found levels too low. I enjoy using ultrasones in studio and for listening.
My K181 pads are getting bad. Thanks for this drop. I picked another one. So far this best for mixing and djing for me.
Can anyone recommend a good pad replacement for this
densmaI'm finding the Brainwavz XL pads to do wonders for comfort and sound on every headphone that can accommodate their size. Each of the six models alter the sound character of the headphone, most notably a soundstage increase and frequency response. Since the K181 are warm and dark, the Perforated (pleather) model would likely suit them best.
