Pen wrap arrived moments ago. I do not know about anyone else, but my pen wrap is not even sewn correctly. the pen wrap closest to the end is not even sewn down as if the method of stitching missed it. Glad I did not invest in the six pocket as this is definitely not the quality expected. I will have to resume carrying my precious fountain pens in my fabric wraps and nearly

UPDATE: Moments ago received my replacement 4 pen roll in chocolate. Can not wait to put my "babies" inside each slot. Not only after reaching out to Allegory did I received a prompt response, it was received from the founder and CEO. Quite impressive and refreshing to experience that level of quality in a company. A replacement pen roll was promised and received today. It is beautiful and all corners, etc, sewed and secure and ready for my much loved fountain pens. Chad Schumacher and Allegory stand by their commitment and the after sale care is impeccable in my opinion based on how quickly and satisfactorily this issue was handled. I would definitely give Allegory another sale. After all the name is fit for a poet. Definitely in my opinion, befitting indeed an Allegory. Thank you once again Mr. Schumacher and Allegory for being willing to make this transaction once again a pleasant one for me and my pens

I think the pen wrap is appealing but very much dislike the marketing. The word 'leather' is ridiculous and annoying. Cured dead animal hide is cured dead animal hide.

Jumped on this drop last time for a 6 slot pen wrap and loved it so much I just ordered a second one from this drop for my drafting pencils.
I cannot speak highly enough of Allegory Leather as a company, their products, or their people. One of my favorite two vendors for leather goods. I would buy anything of theirs that caught my eye without any reservations regarding quality or durability.

This isn't normal or acceptable is it? It's not variation in the hide and the scratch is below the stitching as well...

Based on the response I received, it was because leather is a natural product and it doesn't affect the structure of the piece...
I'm happy with the fix though, not so with it shipping like that.

Glad we were able to resolve it for you. The difficult thing on our end is that we have several customers who in fact prefer these kinds of marks and character, while others see it as a defect. The extremely liberal return and replacement policy was our best solution to a diverse set of preferences and expectations among our customers. We are taking another look at how to handle this on massdrop, as it seems like this group tends to prefer more pristine leather. For now we plan to hang on to pieces with more natural markings for allegory direct customers who often request character pieces.

Any chance you can make a picture how thick the wrap is, when rolled. Great would be a picture from the side (or bottom or top - i mean the "open ends") and from both the 4 pen and the 6 pen wrap together.

Mine came yesterday & can't stop playing with it. It might have something to do with being sick, but it's so soft & smells so good I can't stop petting it. I do wish the cord was about 2" longer, once it's fully loaded it eill be a tight fit.

Yes, we've tested with everything from credit card size ballpoints to beefy fountain pens.

Not to be contrary, but this drop has ran several times now, each of which with substantial quantities. We noticed this one didn't have quite as many people and since nothing has changed we can only assume that it is because hundreds of folks in the massdrop community already have one. We have a few new products in the works so we'll likely hold off several months before making this one available again.
That said - I completely understand your frustration with the shipping cost. It stinks to see something you like and then have logistics make it seem infeasible. For what it's worth, I know that Massdrop ads only very minor handling fees to the shipping on these items, so the numbers you are seeing are very close to the actual costs imposed by the shipping companies. Something that is largely out of the control of Massdrop or Allegory. We love working with international customers and we'll continue looking for more cost effective shipping options to make this work better. Hopefully we can come up with a strategy that makes it easier for international buyers before this product is dropped again.

Please do not think I am in anyway denigrating you product. Quite the contrary as I like your product a lot. I do however believe there is a correlation between volume sold and international postage. Compare your costs to the similar product selling now on this site were the p&p is $6.25. I buy regularly from Massdrop and many of those items have appeared multiple times previously and since. These items sell biggish quantities every time. Could the p&p play a contributing part? I think so. Anyway, bottom line is that I am really at a loss as to see how your product costs more than 3 times that of a similar product to post to Australia. Sadly you have lost at least 1 international sale.
As an aside, I would be genuinely interested to know how p&p is calculated at Massdrop.

Sorry to hear that. As stated, we do stand behind the product and replace any issues. We have apologized and replaced products for anyone who has had issues and contacted us. Talking about the realities of a handcrafted business is not a question of making excuses. Mistakes happen, and when they do we stand behind our guarantee and replace the product. Every product has a defect rate, the goal is to minimize that and ensure that when defects appear those customers are taken care of. We do both of those things.
