First time trying out a zero drop shoe. The materials seem durable, comfort is great. Been wearing them a few times a week for about four months now and no noticeable wear on the uppers or the sole. The sole grips well even on wet concrete. I definitely don't like the minimalist approach so it was good to find these shoes with a good amount of cushion but still zero drop. The only negative was that the laces were too short even without trying to tie them with a runner's loop.
When I these wear out, I'll definitely try to buy them again.
I have been wearing this shoe for about a month now, and find it to be very comfortable and supportive. The grip is excellent, with the lone exception of ice patches, where they suffer compared to my Lone Peak 3.0's. However, the protection provided by the built-in rock plate, combined with the great support, make the Timp Trail a better option for backpacking. The wide foot box is a revolutionary feature which improves comfort and stability. I much prefer the lacing pattern on the Lone Peaks though; there is something not quite right on the Timps. Because of this, I would give a rating of 4-1/2 stars...
I have owned three pairs of these. More cushion compared to the popular Lone Peak models. Wide in the heel and mid foot doesn't press on my feet. I had bad plantar fasciitis in my left foot and surgery and I have worn these shoes on 70-100 mile hikes and feet felt great!!
I love the Altra Timp Trail Running Shoes! They are very comfortable, airy, and can wear them for long periods of time without any discomfort. Love the teal color I ordered. Will definitely order another pair.
Comfortable and offer the benefits of Altra shoes. There are three things bothersome about these 1.0 Timp, the lacing is a bit odd causing the tongue to bunch up a bit; also, the loops on the heels are much too large; and when running extended steep descents the insole slips forward as if it isn't the correct size for the shoe.
Well worth 59.99 plus shipping!
An excellent walking/running shoe. Having read the comments by others that had bought this shoe before I did I was really pleased that I bought a size larger (12.5 instead of 12). This gave me a perfect fit.
These are great shoes, very comfortable. I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis and the Zero Drop Altra’s Are the only shoes I can hikeand run in now. I monitor Mass Drop now for them to be offered. Great value!
I got these primarily for hiking and use Lone Peaks for trail running. I like the extra cushioning of the Timps when on rocks or roads. Wasn't sure if I'd like the offset tongue of the Timps but so far so good. The sole of the Timps seems to be better on slick surfaces and very comfortable to wear. The size runs small IMO , I'm a full size larger in Timps and Lone Peaks
