I bought this not as a racing Sim but as a Flight Sim, knowing that there would be some adjustment's needed Overall, I couldnt be happier with the Product, Fit and finish are Excellent, Assembly was straightforward and Simple. The Sole Suggestion I would give to Arozzi is possibly to market a version designed for Flight sims with a few differences in the Plates to allow easier attachment of things like Flight Sticks, Throttles and Rudder Pedals as opposed to Racing Pedals, marketing a version of this geared towards that aspect of the Sim Community could increase their customer base. One Addendum, When I Unboxed it, I hadnt realized that one of the leg pads was broken in half, I've seen some other people with the same problem. As for attaching my hardware, I have the feeling it's going to be a bit more involved than I originally thought, and I may have to come at this from a different direction to get it to work right. The Engineering as I Said is Superb...but I'm using it for something it obviously wasn't designed fro from the ground up.

Yeah, it's a great value for the money. My one complaint is a pretty serious one, however: this stuff was shipped to me in a box that screamed "Gamer! Woah! PRO GAMER! GAMMMMESSSS GAMER!!!!! WOAHH LOOK AT THIS GUY IN HIS RACING COCKPIT WITH WIND BLOWING HIS HAIR BACK GAMER!!! MUCH PRO!!!!" that the whole neighborhood saw sitting on my porch until I got back from work and brought it inside. I'm disappointed that Massdrop couldn't spare something as simple as a plain cardboard box to package this in.

Spike_SPGLI wouldn't say that it's embarrassing but still an issue. I would guess that an item is more likely to be stolen the more it stands out. If the package is in a plain box people will not be as interested as if say the package said GAMING LAPTOP or MOST POWERFUL HW or PRO GAMER.

Really enjoy this rig. It's nice that I can store it in the corner when not in use and bring it out easily for some driving. Been using it for about 6 months and have had Zero issues. My Thrustmaster TX Base and T3PA-PRO pedals bolted right up with no issue.
The only thing I don't like is that it is a center post design which can get a bit in the way at times. I have my brake pedal set far to the right to be able to heel toe but if I'm driving a car that I want to left foot brake the center post can get in the way. I can still use the pedal but my leg has to rest on the bar to do it. Having said that, since it is a center post design it's also easier to get in and out of. It's really just a give and take to what will fit your needs the best.
Overall I would easily recommend it to anyone. Especially at the $150 price point.

I bought this to use for a vr flight sim cockpit and it works excellent. I also sim race a lot and of course it works perfectly for that as that was what it is designed for. I wish they made an attachment for an additional stick/throttle on the side. Worth the money twice over. Excellent build quality.

The number one thing this setup has going for it is the price point. If you already have an office or gaming chair that fits this (I'd be surprised if any 5 legged chair didn't) it's hard to beat this in terms of value. Some of the cheaper racing cockpits out there with a built-in chair run in the $400-500 range, so getting this for less than half that cost is very compelling. If you need to buy a chair in addition to this I don't see the value being quite there. I've been using this setup for a little over a month and while I think it's a great value, you can get more for your money by saving up a little more for a full-fixed racing cockpit, which will eliminate a lot of the issues with this frame. I'm using it with a Logitech G27 and a DX Racer chair, and primarily with an Oculus Rift.
TL;DR: Great value for the money if you already have a chair, but very much an entry level and 1st generation product with some noticeable tradeoffs that could be solved by getting a full chassis with a built-in seat.
Pros: - Very affordable, especially if you don't need a chair - Setup is quick and easy - Easily adjustable - Easy to move around or store when not in use
Cons: - Lots of movement in the frame - Minor quality issues - Requires readjusting and setting up every time you use it - No cable management - Lack of additional accessories for purchase
Long form review:
The rig arrived in packaging that was very sturdy and did a great job of protecting the individual components. Setup was fairly quick and painless. If you don't need the shifter attachment, it's literally about 4 pieces you have to fit together. The instructions were very clear and did a good job guiding me through the process. In total it took me maybe half an hour from opening the box to being ready to race. There only real issue that held me up was that the wheel mount was backwards on mine. There's only one way for the wheel mount to go on the center pole due to a grooved circular pipe (great idea), but when I looked at the drilling holes they were backwards. Not sure if mine was special or if others have shown up like this. Regardless, it took 5 minutes to figure this out and unscrew the mount from the pole to swap it around.
The chair mount is surprisingly clever on this thing. It's got 2 arms with metal nubs on the end that go into the holes the casters on the chair attach to. They swing back and forth so you can adjust them to a variety of angles and distances, which should help with getting a perfect fit up. Attaching your chair to it is very easy. The hardest part for me was pulling the wheels off the bottom of my chair. It takes a little bit of work to get the swinging arms the chair legs mount to to line up with the wheel slots but after a couple of times it gets easier once you know approximately what angle things need to be at. If you're not going to be dedicating a chair to this rig it can be difficult to swap the chair between the rig and the wheels, so I tend to find myself using this setup only when I know I'm going to dedicate a couple of hours to racing, rather than just hopping on for a race or two then moving on to something else.
Using the rig is a very nice upgrade from clamping the wheel to a desk with the pedals on the floor. Being able to sit in more of a driving position than a sitting position does wonders for immersion and feel when racing. I'm 6' 4" 180 lbs and I was a little concerned about the frame not being long enough for my legs but I fit no problem. My knees rub against the wheel mount pole when getting in and out but that's mostly due to how close I like the wheel to be to me and plus if you're as big as I am you're just used to that sort of thing. There's a good mount of adjustment in this frame. Wheel can be moved vertically, closer/further to you, and tilted. Pedals tilt and can move forward/backward. The shifter can move towards/further from your side, and looks to be ambidextrous so you can have it mounted on either side. It has a little bit of side forwards/backwards swing and the mount rotates in socket so you can position it pretty accurately as long as it doesn't interfere with the armrest on your chair. There's also feet on the bottom of the frame to level it. I stash the rig next to my desk when not in use, which is easy to do, but one downside of this is that when I move it closer to my PC things can sometimes come out of alignment, especially the chair and the rest of the setup. The swinging chair attachment arms allow for the rig to basically pivot about that mount, so your pedals down at the end can be off center from your center line. Having to fiddle around with it every time I set it up to make sure everything is lined up is a bit of a pain, but it only takes a minute or two so it's not that big of a deal. One thing that'd be nice to see is the option to lock the chair attachment arms in place once you have it fitted to the chair so you don't have to do this every time.
I guess that's a good transition into my biggest complaint about this rig: there's a lot of movement when using it. Because almost every component is attached to circular tubes, there's a good amount of rotation from side to side in both the wheel and pedals. The portion the pedals mount on don't have feet under them so the whole piece sits maybe a quarter of an inch off the ground and can allow for some side to side wobble while driving. The pedals and wheel both have tilt that's lockable via a tension screw, which allows for small, but noticeable rocking. I've had to tighten the tension screws down as tight as I possibly can and movement is minimal, but if you do pay attention you'll still notice it. It may take a couple of driving sessions to let everything get settled, and if you can continually pause to tighten the screws and it gets better pretty quickly. At least on mine, there's a couple of allen head screws that hold the wheel mount in place, and they keep coming loose. I tighten them prior to every session and by the end of a race they're already coming loose, causing very noticeable forward/backward rocking in the wheel. The shifter mount moves a lot. It sits on an arm that moves out sideways so if you aggressively shift you can put a lot of torque on the mounting point and move the shifter as much as a few inches in either direction. I've tightened down the mounting screw as much as I possibly can and it does help, but the mounter still moves a noticeable amount. This is a problem if you rely on muscle memory to reach for the shifter, but doubly so if you're in VR and you can't actually see the thing.

I lower mine as low as it can go, and my chair has a lean lock so it doesn't lean back on me much, but it still rocks back and forth by a few degrees, and of course the thing freely rotates. Again, this isn't something that's the fault of the rig, it's just a side product of using an office chair rather than a dedicated racing chair that's mounted to the frame. While the frame construction is very high quality and it's got a good weight to it, you can still move it quite a bit just by shaking it, even with a person in the seat weighing it down even further. For a low power force feedback wheel like mine this isn't a huge deal, but I imagine with a nicer, more powerful wheel you could easily move the frame a good deal while driving. Using box tubing rather than round tubing for the base would probably alleviate most of these issues and greatly contribute to stability.
Here's some small annoyances that aren't directly related to the chassis itself but are "nice to haves". There's no cable management support at all. I've used some zip ties to try and tie everything down as well as possible, but some hooks or clips to help hold cables down, or even some included zip ties would go a long way to make this feel like a more premium product. The inclusion of rubber pads to protect the frame from the hardware you mount it to is a huge plus that I neglected to mention earlier. There's also no included mounting hardware. I know there's a ton of wheel and pedal options out there but most of the major manufacturers have standard mounting systems, and it wouldn't be hard to include a few screws in the box. Maybe at checkout you could also select your wheel and they could throw some screws in. Not a big deal at all, but it would have saved me a couple bucks and a trip to Home Depot.
There's also not any available accessories. I don't expect anything else to be included. I'd gladly pay extra for those. At this price point this is a great value and I'm honestly surprised it comes with a shifter mount. Huge props for including that. But if I want some other accessories for mounting a HOTAS setup or a keyboard/mouse stand those simply don't exist at this time. That being said, the frame is not the most steady of frames in the world so I worry that adding too much to the frame would destabilize it further. It would be nice to have the ability to mount a monitor to this thing. I use this almost exclusively for VR racing since sitting 6 feet from my monitor makes those games a pain to play. An arm with a Vesa mount that attaches to/is a part of the wheel mount would be a nice plus. I know the company has said they're planning to release them in the future, but if you're looking for a mature product with a wide ecosystem of accessories, this isn't for you.
To wrap this small novel of a review up, I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a chassis together on a budget, especially if you've got a chair already. The price does come with some very noticeable trade offs, but there's no real comparison at this price point. The ability to store this away is super nice for anyone who doesn't have space for a larger chassis. That being said, for only a couple hundred bucks more (the "only" being very relative depending on your situation in life) you can get a full frame chassis with a built in seat that is going to be much sturdier. I jumped at this when I saw the price point, and while I don't regret my decision, knowing what I do now I'd wait for a v2 to come out that solves some of the issues I mentioned above. This is a young company launching a first product so I knew there were going to be some teething issues, but I have no doubt they're listening to every bit of feedback and their next iteration will be vastly improved. Solving some or most of the movement issues would easily bump this up to a 4 star review and having a few nice to haves would make it a 5 star easily.

If you're okay with a little bit of work to make it suck less, it's not a bad budget choice.
I had some welds break off within a few hours of using the rig and had to replace the cheap plastic knobs with more substantial hardware. After a trip to the hardware store and couple hours of tweaking, it's together and working okay now. If you expect it to work well out of the box, i would pass.

robertbettsIt doesn't break for everyone.
But it did for me as well, only after some 8 months of using it. Got a replacement part as well.
I am curious to find a chair that wouldn't move like a "gaming" or office chair does and then somehow attach it. Something that probably would look like the Playseat evolution Chair.
If anybody has ideas, would appreciate it.

Great seat! but sadly I noticed the side piece to cover the screws was missing a hole that wasn't drilled, when shipped from the factory. Quality control can be better in making sure everything is done right.
Overall I mean for what you're getting a seat and a racing simulator setup great value!
