Featuring the same solid construction, but with higher quality materials and more detailed sound, the AX-60 comes about as close as you can get to wiring speakers straight into your ears.
Sound Design
Not content with just a 10 mm dynamic driver handling the whole range, Astrotec added dual balanced armature drivers to boost the mids and highs. Now, the bass booms like a studio monitor, the mids are warm and slightly recessed, and the highs can be optimized through the tip selection if they get too sibilant. Speaking of customization, the AX-60 arrives with a range of tips and filters, giving you the ability to change your IEM’s from the inside out. If the sound’s not to your liking, the solution rests right in your hands.
Construction
Housed in metal for a heavy duty build, the IEM’s connect to your device through a specially designed cable that was optimized to match the drivers’ tuning and maximize efficiency. Many reviewers have compared the Astrotec AX-60 to the AKG K3000 in terms of build and sound, and while there are many strong similarities, there is one notable difference: the Astrotec AX-60 arrives at a third of the price.
