In my choice its not worth priece of high end earphone also not good quality product one side gone after minimum use of under 1 yr.i hav so many earphone u can buy ue900 and ie80 and lz a3 better than this
looks like ax-60 has a similar sound to my ie800s
you also make it seem like an analytical signature is bad. to me, i prefer something bright and airy. i've listened to the xba-z5's extensively. way too polite for me.
jwestarbConversely, a sound signature as dry, lean, and analytical sounding as the AX-60 is seldom admired. Whether good or bad, that's for the listener to decide.
And no, having been an early adapter of the IE800 ever since it was initially introduced, the IE800 is far more proficient, with significantly greater (sub)bass impact and less metallic highs. The AX-60 is best contrasted with earphones mentioned earlier (all personally still on hand). When the mood is right, I too reach for a bright and airy sound signature. But for those intents and purposes, the K3003i and FI-BA-SS, to this day, remain unprecedented.
Chris9446Unfortunately, I'd have to agree. Owing to their overly bright, airy, and analytical sound signature, they aren't the easiest to recommend. To the contrary, Rockit R-50, ATH-CK10, DBA-02 (MK I), and Brainwavz B2 admirers will feel right at home.
Owned them for several months now. Despite a very slight channel imbalance with mine, they were well worth the price, especially if a BRIGHT (<- emphasis needed here) and airy sound is one you're after. I quite enjoy them, but they're also quite prone to listening fatigue. Nonetheless, they're among the more proficient hybrids I've heard (among several).
I was part of a Headfi tour on these, and felt that they weren't really worth the $300. But for $229, that is much more reasonable. Nice for that price and recommended.
Has anyone had any luck replacing the foam tips on these? I've been looking for some size L comply foam earbuds, but I can't seem to find a compatible version.
Received mine. Loving them so far, but there's one caveat to keep in mind - they're VERY fussy about the amplifier impedance. Low end of the spectrum will degrade *extremely* quickly if your amp isn't up to par.
This also means that an external headphone amp is quite probably a must if you plan on using these with typical mobile audio sources (mostly been using them at home, so only tried them with an Xperia Z2 so far - results were so-so).
