used crap. PS_ windex has ammonia which is NOT to be used to clean plastics as it causes microfractures

blazer39That's cause every one might be different - who knows what was wrong with them? You can always find reviews on original ones

I don't understand why MD has to call refurbished something other than refurbished. Its like they think we're a bunch of babies that need coddling (i.e. stupid). It feels rather insulting. I don't need all these ridiculous BS backstories. This is a good price for refurbished (It's $15 less than Amazon). And for the record, MD usually has great prices for refurbs that they offer. Why hide it? Its almost like they want to be known as being super sketchy.

eneroPerhaps it's just a difference in communities but evga also calls their refurbs bstock (for example gpus) as do sites like novelkeys (deskpads) and there seem to be no issues understanding what it means; I personally think it's fine, doesn't feel like coddling.

saucyraichuSure as a knowledgable consumer its fine, because you know what to look out for. But how many people do you know, young or old, that actually do their own homework before buying something. In this particular instance, its fine, this sucker is backed by AT's own warranty. But than you look at something like those sketchy ass MacBooks that MD tried to pass off as official Apple "B Stock" a few months back, and ultimately (and only) through the due diligence of myself and a few other members got them to admit that they were actually just rando 3rd party "refurbs" with 90 day reseller warranties. That just becomes a major problem. I'm sure there are also plenty of other drops that this has been the case. Its just an awful awful practice, especially when their return policy is so crummy. And for the record, I'm more incline to trust companies like EGVA and Novelkeys calling their stock, "b-stock", since it's their own products. I'm a bit (a lot) more skeptical when a store that has nothing to do with the brand, claims the same. unless it is expressly written out in the description what the warranty is, who backs it, and where the stock came from.

“B-stock” often refers to product that came from an “expediter” or “diverter.” Many times during manufacturer’s shipping product to markets or dealers, the truck or train is delayed. Perhaps by an accident, weather, labor shortage, so the manufacturer sells the entire load at a discount to a “diverter” to handle in “as is” condition. In this case it sounds like the product is fine but the original packaging was damaged beyond being usable to contain the item and accessories.

You did see I said; "B-stock often refers to....," and "In this case it sounds like....?"

crossBy the way, the term 'wear' can refer to the appearance of wear from a brand new product recovered after it, and a thousand other matching units have spilled from a shipping container onto a highway at 60mph. Or from being dropped off a warehouse shelf. The product is recovered, sold to a 'diverter' who cleans it, repackages it in plain brown cardboard, and then sells it at a discount. Or it could be return. Here's another explanation of what 'B-stock' can mean; https://archive.fortune.com/2009/07/31/news/companies/product_diversion.fortune/index.htm

Critical50I bought a B-stock Audeze Lcd-X from Moon Audio. The description said they could have cosmetic defects but where in working order. The pair I got looked brand new. Went over the while phone and couldnt find anything wrong with it. Saved a bunch of money, so I actual started looking for b-stocks.

Knowing what Massdrop's "A stock" is like, I can't imagine how ruined these are.

"B-stock?" So they're refurbished. It took too many words to dance around admitting that.

soultronI completely agree. These are refurbished, not b-stock.

j-techYeah, to me, B-Stock means they were never sold to begin with. Refurb is that someone purchased it and used it and returned because it was defective, broken or they were dissatisfied after putting their grubby little hands all over it. In this case it sounds refurbished/used.
