the placement of 9/10 picture is not good. there is hole on the pcb to help ventilate the heat. vertical placement maybe will make the heat/temp un-even.
I'm going to assume this pairs well with their ADX5000 based on the very limited press I've seen of the amp, but has anyone tried it?
Additionally, any comment from Drop with regards to warranty? The amp seems to be in limbo with regards to a US release and no other retailers I've asked have any idea what's going on with it.
EDIT: I ended up purchasing one. Not really sure how warranty works, but I can at least attest that the ADX5000 pairing is better here than on something like the Xduoo TA-20 and the ifi iCan Pro.
@RA3173 it's probably the tubes; I found the TA-20 is not great for tube rolling. My personal favorite tubes do not work well at all, and produce a lot noise. I've tried 3 sets/brands, and only 1 worked; the last & most expensive picked up noise from my skin touching the chassis. When you find something that works, it's great.
I've clocked maybe 6hr on the AT-BHA100, but it does have an audibly different soundstage; slightly more spacious I'd say, and it adds something to the sound of a Topping D90.
At 4x the price retail, I really can't say it's "worth" the upgrade ... but I doubt you wouldn't enjoy it as much as I am. I picked it up out of curiousity, and it's probably going to be my primary amp for a while. The heat output is like the TA-20, which is much lower than I assumed it'd be.
