I am using X1s. When it is connected via usb to a computer, t has no problem. But with the optical from my tv, in every 3~5 minutes, there is a instant mute for about 0.3 second. Does anyone know why this is happening? It drives me nuts.
I want to get my first Amp and Dac so I am gonna go with a combo. Would yall say this is better or the O2 + SDAC DAC/Amp? Or would it be best to get a Aune X1S?
Crimac95I would think so. The Aune website claims that the X1s can connect with Android devices using USB OTG. From what I understand the M9 runs a stripped down variant of Android.
Crimac95The M9 supports USB audio out (send digital audio bits through USB), with even support for DoP/D2P.
Wow. This Fiio M9 does everything... USB audio out, USB audio in to act as a DAC, 3.5mm stereo out, coaxial out, balanced 2.5mm out.
Hope it works with X1S.
verifonixIn my experience output impedance is extremely important for sensitive IEMs like the Shure se535. High impedance sources completely mess up the sound and makes them unlistenable.
Is it just me or my HD6XX paired with the X1S is a bit too bright...
I keep on pushing volume to get more and over all balanced sound but in order for me to get the right lows and highs it's at a point where its too fatiguing to my ears... Im saying this since I was able to pair my HD6xx with a friend's Chord Mojo. That thing just made the HD6xx "bloom", and that's basically the soundscape that I'm after but I want a desktop solution and cant splurge for a Hugo just yet.
Does this mean that I need a dedicated amp, something warmer perhaps? I prefer to lower volumes, with my sweet spot at about 11:30 on the X1S on the HD6xx. But the low end just sounds like its way down at the back of the stage.
I'd like to hear your thoughts.
diy_CharlieI have the opposite problem with this amp/dac and my Sennheiser HD6XX; they sound dull and lifeless compared to my ATH-M50X. The ATH sounds really good with this hardware. I don't know if I have a bad pair of HD6XX or not, but they haven't sounded very good with anything I've paired them with.
KSWDDSI have also Hifiman HE-4XX - with X1S these sound great. Maybe I like the sound signature of these more than HD6XX. Another thing - when I equalize both headphones close to "flat" with parametric EQ, Aune can bring low end - it has the power so I believe if you like low end, you need to EQ things or start with bass heavy headphones in a first place. So maybe nothing is wrong with X1S.
Anyone have any experience with this running on low impedance headphones (say like TR-X00, 25 ohm)? As far as I know X1S has output impedance of 10 ohm which will violate the 1/8th rule (ideally the headphone need to be 80 ohm minimum).
Would it cause any distortion?
HydeHi, not sure if this helps but i'm currently using the Hifimen HE4xx with the x7 & x1s, i don't get any distortion and the HE4xx's are rated at 35 ohms

HydeI'm using it with my 16ohm earbuds and hear no distortion. Although channel imbalance is apparent at around 7:00 position, aka at very low volume. So you might need to listen to its at moderate to loud volume
Also, its output impedance is measured at 5.9 ohm according to here.
