I'm very impressed with the weight, function, and price of the headlamp. I haven't tried it in water situations yet which is what I bought it for but I suspect it will do just fine being a black diamond product. If I understand correctly, the battery compartment is not waterproof but the rest of the headlamp is. So a draining of the battery compartment is required after using it in a submerged condition. I don't see anything in the paperwork that came with the headlamp about that but it seems like I read that somewhere on the Black Diamond site?

Best head lamp ive ever owned. Not the brightest or the baddest but plenty bright for your average hunter, fisherman, camper, etc.. This is my second one that i bought just in case i misplace the other or a friend needs one. Ive owned most of the other brands and they all tend to fail internally after about a year or so of use. Ive had this one for 4 years and it still works like the day i got it.

Excellent light. I find uses for it all the time. Low battery light finally came on after almost a year and I kept using on and off for a couple weeks before I needed it for a camping trip and finally replaced the batteries just so I wouldn't run out in the dark.

Plenty of light output for size and good battery life for given output. For me; that’s worth every bit of two stars, but now for the rest of the story, giant yellow hot spot in the middle of the beam, elastic headband has lost much of its elasticity, and although I’ve gotten used to it, switching between the various lighting modes is a trip. At this point I will be looking to other brands for a better solution.

It works perfect. All three LEDs are reasonable bright. The "lock" for the batterys is the only thing I dont like...
