For those looking for some info about those IEMs look up super reviews on youtube. He already did an unboxing/measurement of those. The video is an hour long but the actual content is like 15min. The rest is more of a QnA
IEMs are typically extremely sensitive that's why they can work without amplification (most of them at least). Your DAC probably has a sound floor that is too high for them. I normally don't use my IEMs from my dacs/amps and if i HAVE to plug them in source thats too powerful I use an attenuator (ifi iematch+). Alternatively they're some amps that have a high sensitivity setting like the IEMagny from schiit.
hollowslyferI figured it was something like that, I just don’t know much about audio lol, I only plan to use them occasionally so I guess I can put up with the small hassle of switching devices. Thank you for your helpful answer
I just got a set, they sound great. If I had to guess, the design of the shell is just to flex since it is a halo product. But I would imagine there’s some weight savings, they don’t weigh much at all and they’re super comfortable. They did 3D print the housings out of Zinc alloy, which is pretty cool.
