Pierre111hi, do you know what happened with bluewave, I heard that mac buy the company, and where could I get the latest firmware? since the page www.bluewaveaudio.ca is no longer active
Hi Idk where to ask but my bluewave get sometimes get stuck "on" with a green/red light and I'm unable to connect or restart it. Is there a way to hard shutdown?
DeviledeggsGranted you’ll pay twice as much, but it’s worth shelling out for a more ‘contemporary’ unit (ie Qudelix, Fiio BTR5) for the quality of life improvements IMO. The Bluewave is a solid deal at $55 though.
jamestMy guess is that these are an inventory dump at cost or at least close to, so they can't afford the sudden increase in shipping expenses, especially if it comes from China where what little cargo transfer capacity there is left is being used for medical supplies.
i Just received my Drop today via FedEx. Was excited to get this... looks slick and feels nice. however, I do notice the audible hiss and it is pretty loud and always present. Is it possible that I ended up getting a Hi Gain version? I was under the impression that the previous drop before this one was the low gain... anyone else get delivery from the previous Drop and can comment? Btw, I’m using it with Drop+ IEM.
NeodanHi it should be written on the Packaging if it is hi or low gain. We also have in very small quantities impedance adapters available trough our website (I will not post the link, not sure promoting sales trough an other channel would be appropriate but should be easy to find) you can also reach me at info@bluewaveaudio.ca for support or warranty.
Pierre111Hi Pierre, thanks for the reply. I sent an email can you please see. I found that it was the High Gain version, as shown on the packaging. Please help, as I was supposed to receive the Low gain version. I only own IEM’s.
the technology is dated for this device.... for the price it would seem they are dumping the product... too many other choices today with better technology... but the price is hard to beat...

Hi - Forgive me if the question seems ignorant - Im wondering about the hi gain of this ( I think, reading through, its a hi gain version ) - as I use primarily IEM's ( Campfire and IMR's ) am I to understand correctly that the hi gain isnt recommended for IEM use, and will give me some white noise?
Some people are very sensitive to low level background noise, some will never be able to hear that regardless of the IEM sensitivity, It's hard to answer this, the truth is, yes, the more gain you apply to a signal, the higher the noise floor in absolute value (not in term of snr, that's why this metric is the same on both models). Most people I know can't hear this, including me but those who do are not making this up, so we can't give you a clear answer. We still have in limited quantities some impedance adapters.

Pierre111Thanks for response Pierre - thought that might be the case, so ordered one of your impedance adapters just in case!
