These aren't going to replace a high quality monocular or binoculars, but it works and is very light and compact. I keep it in my edc backpack. The image quality is not great but is good enough and fairly impressive for such a lightweight little monocular.
As you might expect, this is light-duty magnification - that isn't to say that it doesn't come in a rugged, lightweight, ergonomic, and truly compact case.
I believe that this is an excellent pocket scope. One must manage expectations as the typical referance are compact binoculars. These won't be as powerful nor will the field of view be as wide.
I agree with what most people are saying on the review of this pocket scope- it's good enough for what it is but the magnification and field of view are just okay.
I bought this because I like bird watching, but am more interested in ultralight backpacking and wasn't willing to lug around a decent set of binoculars just in case I spotted something interesting while hiking. This thing is small, light, and easy to carry so it fits the bill for my ultralight setup.
I don't have anything negative or positive to say for this product...it is what it was advertised to be at a reasonable price. That's not intended as a slight, everything doesn't have to be amazing. I needed something to keep in the truck and handy that didn't take up alot of space or require constant attention or care. This fit the bill, it was affordable, lightweight, and the optics aren't bad, especially for the price.
I haven't noticed any distortion from the lenses and given the size the 7x magnification is good enough. It would be nice to have a higher magnification though.
This is a set scope; instead for your pocket; even tho it has a case. This is part of my daily carry. I use to watch animals, birds, etc on my daily hikes with Newton (the dog). Functional is awesome for something this size.
