Guacamole is delicious, but it goes bad quicker than just about anything. Savor the flavor with the Guac-Lock: an airtight storage and serving container designed to keep your guacamole fresher for longer Read More
Contrary to popular belief, when guacamole browns, that doesn't mean it is "going bad". It is simply reacting to the air and oxygenating, which makes it change color, and is in no way less fresh as a result. I get that it is less appealing that way, but this little "gadget" is barely a proper solution.
Good lord, a $20 solution to a rare problem. Do you have Tupperware storage containers in these sizes? Do you own a roll of plastic wrap?
put your guacamole in the container, level off the top, then put a layer of plastic wrap down on it. Push out air pockets and pat it down all the way to the edges, and with a spoon handle tuck the outer edge down a bit between the dip and the side of the container. Seal the top.
There, now you don’t have to figure out where to put another gadget you almost never use.
I recently bought this thing and loved it. It's a little confusing figuring out the orientation of each part, but once you've got it down, you've got it down. I saved my guac for about 3 days and it was still fresh, green, and delicious. I've heard tell of people saving it for up to a week... Not sure I'll ever get to a point in my life that I am able to restrain myself from eating guacamole for a full week, BUT IF I DO!!!!
