What makes this better than an ipod, or a smartphone. Unlike a record player it seems to me that there is not even the nostalgia factor here. I’m trying to understand what a device like this gives to its users. It might be self evident to an audiophile, but I’m not one.
Hope someone out there can help. Started using my Cayin N3Pro, loaded a MicroSD card with some music, right after the unit scans for the music it will play but once I turn it off an attempt to use again it will say it does not recognize the files, has anyone else experienced this and can give me some advice on how to solve? regards to all
Yes this has happened to me quite a bit. If you read my post from December 18 you will see I complain about it. So now we know it's not just me. So buyers beware. I wish I could tell you there was a solution unfortunately you just have to reload it. So just rescan everything back in and you should be good to go. It scans in pretty quickly. However it's very annoying I did the download I thought it would fix it. It did not. So hopefully a future download will fix that problem. The other problem is you absolutely have to have a case with this thing otherwise the micro card pops out. With the case it fixes that problem. The other problem you might experience is freezing I notice it has a lot of freeze ups where you basically have to restart the machine. Restarting is always tricky to I'm always wondering if it's actually going to really start up because it's taking so long. However it always does start up. So good luck with your problems on the plus side it is a really good sounding machine and the tubes sound fantastic.
Thanks Im very grateful for your reply. As I said have been trying with different cards, as well as mounting and dismounting it. I guess I will just have to be patient with it. Was trying to ask the Cayin support folks but the support page is all in Chinese so that was not possible for me. I was wondering also if if could have to do with the way one formats the MicroSD card before transferring the music to it. anyway, regards and thanks again for your advice.
Hit me up at my username at gmail if you're interested in picking one up in great/like new condition for $375. Comes with the leather case as well. I just have too many DAPs & have gotten used to Android-based players. You can find my listing on head-fi.
~edit - DAP has been sold. Thanks for the interest.
Bumping from comment below:
"Probably a great player. I wanted to pick one up on Black Friday but missed it. Was $379 with case on MusickTeck. Would have bought it here if it was more like $399."
This is a great DAP. I purchased one from a different online retailer a couple of weeks ago at the exact same price that Drop is offering, and it also included free shipping and the nifty green leather case.
I purchased mine here and it´s arriving in a few days. Just wanted to comment on the fact that from what I now read the price we really not that great. As someone mentioned here, Drop should be much more careful on how they shop and how they price what they offer the Drop community. From now on I will always see what is offered by Drop with more than a grain of salt! regards to all.
