This is my main at home unboxing knife now and I really like the weight and feel of it in the hand.
I love that you can open it with one hand without and spring assist.
Build = fantastic for the price, as usual from CJRB
Design = WTF?
There isn't enough travel for the flipper tab to successfully deploy the blade with frequency (without an aggressive flick). I got the Cu version, so, with the blade up, simply holding by the the blade tip will deploy.
Ergonomics are fine, though not sure if they're suited to the blade. Speaking of which, I'm still trying to work out what a Wharncliffe blade is for.
All good though - I only purchased this as novelty (all my other blades get used); fits that purpose well!
A great experience overall, everything was lubed and the deployment was pretty smooth and the detent wasn't too harsh as well. D2 pretty good every-use steel.
This thing is bananas sharp out of the box, and seemed like a great workhorse... but unfortunately the liner lock was a bit off tolerance and there's wiggle in the blade. Might have been cheap, but no excuse for that one.
I've been daily carrying this knife for a few months and it can take a beating. I've had the clip get caught on stuff and it bend out of shape, unfortunately one of the two screws holding the clip in place stripped so I couldn't pull the clip out to straighten it out properly but I was able to use a pair of pliers to get it back into shape.
The knife holds its edge really well and its thin profile makes it hard to remember its actually in your pocket!
Depending on your cutting needs, this is one of the most fun blades I’ve ever purchased.
Sharpness: 8/10
Build Quality: 9/10
Only complaint I could see some people voicing is how light the grip is compared to the blade (didn’t mind personally)
Action is great, fantastic grip, and cuts so clean. If you’re in need of a Wharncliffe blade, consider this one.
