Great for decapitating pig carcasses, cutting through ballistic gelatin, smashing watermelons, digging holes by the side of the road, decapitating zombies, throwing at things you don't like, cutting branches, and smashing shit up (while grunting). In fact, I engaged in many of these activities as soon as I got mine, and found it very satisfying!

This was a great buy, I wish I had bought two of them. It is a short and sturdy shovel. The handle is very robust and is fastened to the head via friction and two large screws. The handle is a bit smooth but will wear with time. Mine arrived surprisingly sharp on all of its edges. I made one side a bit sharper with a file for whacking small saplings or branches. The finish on the blade was very smooth and uniform as well. I did give it a light spray of Amsoil Metal protector since it won't be used except for camping and the occasional garden task. Overall very well made, priced right, and a useful tool.

I'm impressed with the shovel, especially the steel, and the Massdrop price was the lowest I'd seen for an item I'd been watching. It's a great tool. I subtracted 1 star because the finish for the wood handle is too slippery. I'll have to sand it down and apply a simple linseed oil or some such finish. This is a common problem in store-bought handles... I guess manufacturers think that people like things slick and shiny and plasticky... not so. Give me that 'ol time oil finish.

No sheath came with the shovel

I can't get through to customer support about the missing sheath. Drop needs an email address to send to. The shovel itself is great. I have one for each vehicle, and have purchased one for each of my children and their significant others - just not through Drop.

Good shovel, no sheath as advertised

"Store it in the included Cor-Ex sheath when not in use." No sheaths came with my two shovels. I had to order them off Amazon, which killed any bargain this deal may have been. On top of that, one shovel had a beat up handle as they were shipped loose in a box. This was my first experience ordering from Drop and I'm really let down.

Same here no sheaths contacted Drop had to buy my own sheaths for the 4 shovels. I ordered from Amazon for about 30 dollars. (bait and switch)

Great shovel, the handle is a little too slippery for my taste. I subtracted a star because the box it came in was a small sized moving box broken down flat which could have broken easy. I probably will purchase more in the future though.
