Product Description
The Bolted from Collective Carry isn’t your average ballpoint pen. Milled from impact-resistant aluminum and tungsten steel, it’s equal parts writing instrument and emergency tool, with a beveled edge that works for breaking glass or self-defense Read More
Stopped carrying this pen shorty after I got it (2017) because it will suddenly stop writing, then after a while, will write again. Very frustrating. Threw it in a draw, and just 're-discovered' it the other day; and carried it again. Then when I started writing with it, the ink seemingly dried up; but after a while, it will write maybe a sentence again before it fades away. I'm looking for a refill, can't find it; nothing on the ink refill itself, and nothing in the description. If anyone knows, please post it here. Thanks!
Is space grey and gun metal green the same color? I see space grey on description but not available to purchase. Could someone put a picture of the gun metal green color? It is an option to purchase and space grey isn’t. I would like to see it before deciding whether or not to buy it.
Ah, thank you for the clarification.
It is very confusing (and disappointing) that Pilot uses the G2 designation for their rollerball pens/refills, but they are not conformant to this "Parker G2" standard. I really like the flow of Pilot's G2 cartridge, along with their Navy ink color.
JohnRCooperWhile _Pilot_ G2 is off-topic for this particular drop, if we are just sharing opinions already, I'm pretty meh about Pilot G2s. Best, smoothest rollerball I've ever tried was Schneider Topball 850, which can be put anywhere where a Pilot G2 can be put. Not the other way around, though, because Pilot G2, while mostly conformant to the Euro-refill format, has an ever so slightly thicker "nose" part (the one which ends with the taper directly to the ball), so Pilot G2s can_not_ be put in some rollerball pens that are out there. I've had some Pilot G2 refills go way too skippy on me (same for the Schmidt P8127 that everyone for some reason fawns over—the Retro51 and the Baron Fig Squire rollerball refill; I had to throw out the refill that came with my Retro51 Tiki-Kona because it was an _immense_ pain to use). I think people learn to love what they have, and if you have not seen anything beyond a Pilot G2, you'll love it. But not if you've had the opportunity to try other stuff. So, for Eurorefill-compatible rollerballs, I highly recommend Schneider Topball 850. The flip side of the immense smoothness is that on poor-quality paper, it'll start to bleed through sooner than a comparable width Pilot G2 as the quality of paper goes down; but oh is it a joy to write with!
Of course, to avoid confusion for anyone who'd read this thread, I'd like to underscore once more that the pen in this drop uses the _Parker_ G2 refills. Among those, I prefer either Stabilo (best) or Faber-Castell (second-best) refills; not Parker's very own. OHTO needlepoints are very smooth too, but they tend to blob which can get annoying.
Looks a great deal like my fellhoelter ti-bolt that I picked up on MD a couple years ago. It's my favorite pen and has ridden in my pocket almost every day since then. I anodized it myself over the kitchen stove.
Massdrop absolutely making a killing on this drop. This pen is worth 9 dollars basically on any other website. People coming at me saying this one is authentic and that's why it's priced at 23 dollars seriously need to wake up.
Heavy is good.
Slippery not good.
Slippery can be fixed easily.
As far as clones.
Can't say.
For $22 and MassDrop to cover me.
I'll stay here.
Provide a link in the future so we can judge for ourselves.
BrainFlushI wish I could, but Massdrop rules won't allow it. But if you search "/product/6695102-fura-aluminum-alloy-outdoor-survival-tactical" in google...you just might find it...for around 6 bucks...
So ive been emailing back and forth with massdrop reguarding this drop. Seems like im not the only person having shipping info issues. Massdrop just today emailed back and said my order was lost? And they already processed a refund. looks like mine was not the only order lost. If you still havent recieved you pen id definitley email massdrop for a refund. I dont know how so many orders were “lost” but almost seems like a scam. This was my first ever order from massdrop and might be my last. They said they cant get me a replacement because they only had the exact number of pens for the order... but they also told me the pen was shipping directly from the manufacturer. So if its shipping from the company that makes it l, they should definitly have more! Smells like a scam to me. Theyre probably just hoping people wont email and complain so they can just keep your hard earned money without giving out products in return.
Its been 2 weeks since I got my tracking number and it has yet to even start moving. (Pre-Shipment) when is the package going to be dropped off to USPS?
