Committed on this one. Should work nicely with my DT770s. My current Forte 7.1 is on its way out and when it comes to gaming Creatives CMSS Headphone tech is the best out there. These go for 550AUD so is a great saving if we hit 299USD. Just wondering if I should grab the K7XXs while I can too…

craingerK7xx are a no brainer for that price. Mine are my go-to headphones for gaming with my mixamp pro. They should pair awesomely with the x7

ghaganPulled the trigger and grabbed the K7XXs. Very favourable reviews. Now just have to wait for both to arrive. :) Next step is to find some nice bookshelf speakers. Wonder how the matching XM7 speakers will perform.

ghaganHey man, I bought the 7XX for that very purpose (pair it with Mixamp Pro). How does your setup fair? Enough power? Great surround? Satisfactory sound quality? Thanks :)

Jack_CarverHey I think it sounds great, man. Only thing that I absolutely hate about the Mix amp is that Astro hasn't mastered the art of USB voice and anyone you're chatting with will say you sound overly filtered or robotic. Other than that, the amp itself and the surround emulation is fantastic and more than enough to drive the k7xx

ghaganSimply Amazing news, couldn't be more happy! PS: Yeah that's why I got an Antlion ModMic 4.0 and Asus Xonar U7, the microphone quality is insanely good for such a little boom Mic. Just watch these videos and you'll know what I'm talking about. I even think the Xonar does a better job than those.

Do remember to put it in the right orientation though, cause I forgot. lol

Jack_CarverI have an antlion Modmic too but again...it sounds over processed and filtered when running through that mixamp. I have an audio technica USB adapter I plug the Modmic into and it sounds dramatically better. Check out my video. I can't wait to get this X7 for my headphones on ps4 and then use my AT adapter for the mic. Mixamp pro is going on eBay as soon as I get my X7!

ghaganNever thought of using a USB to 3.5mm adapter for the voice chat on my PS4. That'll definitely solve the issue of having to plug my mic into my controller when I receive the X7. I'm currently using the Mixamp and I agree that the microphone sounds over-processed on it. That and the noise floor on the mixamp is atrocious. Getting this X7 seems to be the best way to simplify and improve my setup.

grumpy1471This is the adapter I use with the Modmic. Be careful of the ones that look like a thumb/flash drive when trying to plug into ps4. They won't fit due to the groove size on the front of the unit.

ghaganThe difference is clear: PC gaming > the rest.

ghaganYeah that's the problem with analog mics is that they can only be as good as the audio processing allows it. Unfortunately the Mic input on the Mixamp was not ASTRO's main focus. And yeah that X7 you'll get will probably fix everything. I just haven't got that much lying around after I just jumped on the 7XX bandwagon too so the Asus U7 still does the job perfectly. A solid recommend for PC gamers if you don't have the cash for a more expensive solution. :)
