If only I didn't own my Westone UM Pro 50s, I would buy this bad boy in a heartbeat. Honestly, the highs can be helped with a pure silver cable and custom ear tips/deep tips. On the guise of style and looks, these things definitely have the beauty. The special thing, just like my UM50s, is that because it is leaning towards the darker signature, it should never make it extraneous to listen to unlike the SE846. Remember, high frequencies are quite tiring. If only I could grab one of these, but alas, no money for a good while.
Hi everyone. David of Cypher Labs here and I'm enjoying the commentary going on here....
There have been several comments about upgrading the cable and ear tips and those are all things you can do to alter the sound signature to your preference. A silver cable will brighten up most IEM's and that is true of the C6iem, although that has to be your taste. It seems to really vary by region, is what I'm finding. My customers in Japan really prefer much more treble/high end than in the USA. Ear tips do make a difference as well, which is why we include three types with the C6iem. Changing the tips to another brand is a low cost way to experiment with fit and isolation, especially for bass. Don't forget the equalizer on your source! We like the Onkyo Player's musician designed presets and ability to save new settings.
FYI, some countries will not be able to participate in this drop because we have an exclusive arrangement (Indonesia, France, Singapore, a few others). Otherwise let me know if you have questions. Out of hundreds sold only one defect and one return, so feeling pretty good about this product. Cheers, David.
Pantsu_BearC6iem doesn't do much for treble detail it is more focused on bass sub bass and mid's . If you are looking for extreme detail these will not be for you. I really enjoy mine they have a great build and fit nicely in my ears I listen mainly to classic rock and blues in comparison if I'm down for detail I get that from Heir 350 czar's but they become fatiguing after a couple of hours.
These iems have the exact sound signature that I was looking for. Very clear but not bright with a black black background. They are also light and comfortable. I've read reviews that state that this is a "dark" sounding headphone, but I don't find this to be the case at all. And I say this as a Grado fanboy. This is not the ciem version of the HD650; which I really find boring and sleep inducing. Now all of this could be that my funky shaped ear canals (very large) are just right for this particular iem. I don't know if this matters but I use the JVC spiral dot ear pieces which for some reason just seal better than the ones that came with the C6iem.
To me, these have a surprisingly low-end oriented sound. It's easily has the most bass punch I've heard from anything without a dynamic driver. They're also the most comfortable universals I've ever used, though the disclaimer is I've listened to maybe 7 or 8 IEMs. And I've never had a CIEM which would be the most comfortable. Plus there are several out for this price.
helloimkonIf you look back in the discussion the cypher labs ceo mentions they were having an extra discount for thier first drop which won't be repeated unfortunately
