Mav3rickI read posts on Head-Fi about the DV 336SE VS LD MKIII. tl;dr MKIII is neutral and transparent and DV 336SE has a warm sound. Tube price comparisons I read between them is:<br /><br />"No, they're about the same for the cheap ones. They can both get pretty expensive, but the tubes for the Darkvoice can be much more expensive if you want the "holy grail" tubes."<br /><br />What set me to commit to buy is the DV OTL amps have a high synergy with the high impedance Sennheiser headphones and the warm sound.

Doco@Doco Any specific Sennheiser's you'd recommend to pair with this amp? I'm certainly interested especially if it hits $219 and the $10 shipping isn't to be overlooked either. These amps are usually pretty heavy due to the large transformer needed to drive the plate voltages on the valves.

mleduSennheiser 580 (discontinued now), 600, and 650. I have a Sennheiser HD650 and plan to pair it with the ODAC with this OTL amp if it hits $219.99.

Mav3rickOne thing I would like to point out about the LD tube amps is that they mount components on a PCB, which is not ideal for vacuum tubes.
