I used these socks to participate in a one hundred mile foot race in September 2018 in Tennessee. I was given the hours of my age, 71, to complete the task. I finished in 65 hours. That's almost four marathons distance in less than three days. I used Darn Tough socks throughout the race, changing to a fresh pair three times. Each time I coated the bottoms of my feet and the inside bottoms of the Darn Tough socks with "Body Glide". I did not develop any blisters on the bottoms of my feet. I got hot spots on the inside tops of both great toes, but that is because the shoes were a little too narrow. I solved that problem by literally cutting out the uppers of the shoes over my great toes. That solved that problem. But the point is these socks rock. I used them in many twenty mile training sessions leading up to the 100 miler, and on multi-day backpack trips. If we get the shoe size right, these Darn Tough socks will do their part. Accept no substitutes.

yes they are a bit pricey but I think they are worth it. When you realize that they are guaranteed for life and that you will get a new pair if they ever wear out...it is a no brainer. I have been wearing Darn Tough socks for nearly two years everyday. They feel just as soft and supportive as when I first bought them. These socks have far more cushioning and they feel very good in my boots. I like their support, and cushioning. I think most people would find these socks excellent and I do recommend them.

Not bad

Pros -Comfortable -Durable Cons -My feet sweat in these and my feet normally stay pretty dry -Everything gets stuck in the weave of the sock. Every piece of plant matter that touches these sock, and sometimes even pebbles needs to be pried out. Taking care of these socks after a hike, and wash, since that does not help with embedded debris, is tedious. -Not as long as as I like a crew sock. -I prefer the Drop x Fitsok greatly. All my complaints are small, and these socks are good, but they are far from my favorite, and I don't wear them very often as a result.

I absolutely love these socks. I bought some slightly loose fitting hiking boots on the recommendation of a specialist and with these socks the combination is very comfortable. They look great too. Normally I go for thin socks but whenever I put these on it is a treat. My wife likes hers too. I can't wear wool it makes me itch like crazy so the Coolmax is the Darn Tough sock for me.
