Noise is the enemy of all headphones. While releases like the HD 6XX and HD 58X are praised for their ultra-quiet performance, interference and distortion can still creep in from other components, like the cable Read More

Whoever buys this probably feels real bad about missing the Tripowin Granvia drop (40$ plus you choose termination and, imo, looks better)

Well you can buy the same from hart audio cables for 61 bucks plus shipping and tax 70 bucks. If you like the Paracord wrap and red. I checked all over Amazon. I ordered 4 different sets and returned them all due to the noise that comes through the cans when the cable runs against something. I ordered these , I paid 99 bucks , and they are great. They are supple rubber and braided well. The metal tip connectors at the headphone and amp plug in tightly and haven’t had a problem with them since. The 4.4 is also metal and not some cheap plastic. are they expensive, yes. Are they good , yes better than the cheaper options in build quality. Will they give you better sound, compared to really cheap cables yes. But you won’t get better sound than the 70 dollar ones. It will be a nicer quality build. so the real question here is 70 for hart audio, plastic connectors good cable with paracord wrap in red or gray or rubber wrapped braided cable with metal connectors (aluminum I believe) well built and put together. should you wait for a bulk discount of 0% and then wait 2 months , no

$100 per meter of cable, eh? Guess there's a sucker born every minute.
I gotta say, I don't get the idea of spending $220 on headphones and then $100 on cables. Just save it for better cans

The original cable is balanced. Just saying. You can simply replace the original plug with a 4-pin XLR, preferably, a high-quality Neutrik.

Your tone-deaf response to my comment seems a tad on the canned side—about as relevant as your cables are to improving the performance of my cans. There's gotta be some irony in there somewhere ;- )

Balanced cables aren't for everyone. This cable is just another option to choose from.

Do not waste your money on this. You can find better quality cables for half the price or same quality for a quarter of it.

I mean, I am all for a good cable but... how could one justify buying a cable that is 50% of the cost of the headphones themselves? Lots of better options out there for cables, like Hart Audio Cables... they make fantastic and versatile stuff which are higher quality than this. This has to have like an 85% Gross Margin on it at least, time to get into the cable business :]
I've actually been pretty surprised that Drop hasn't really jumped on the custom cable bandwagon. I mean, yeah, they've made their own balanced sennie cable and all, but that was $20-30 more than the first party replacement cable from Sennheiser and built exactly the same. It wasn't special, it wasn't terribly good either. It was literally cheaper (ignoring the cost of my time) to buy the Sennheiser first party cable off of Amazon along with a good TRRS or XLR plug, chop the TRS, trace the conductor using a multi-meter/continuity tester, and solder on the balanced connector than it was to buy the Drop variant. I've got ZERO problems paying for high quality reasonably priced cables. And yes, I do consider Hart reasonably priced for the amount of effort that goes into the construction as well as the materials and connectors. What I absolutely loathe is when fairly generic and cheaply sourced Chinese cables are sold at prices similar to boutique. I see that crap and I nope the heck out and just build my own boutique grade. It isn't like silver plated stranded 5N copper in Teflon wrapper or single/double enamelled Litz is hard to come by or terribly expensive. I of course say (type) this while looking at ~500' of both sitting on my desk with combined price of less than ONE of these Dekoni cables. I would easily pay the premium for something modular from Drop if it was built like Hart using similar components without any marketing bullshit speak about it doing things that we all know it can't. Especially if it was using the classic Drop Navy Blue colourway. I'd likely even put up with the ugly logo being stuck on the connectors and pants.
