So Drop has discounted these 15% for their big 4th of July sale. Problem is that they took it off the suggested retail price instead of their normal price when they appear here. Are they so desperate to make a buck that they’ve stooped to misrepresentation? Oh, nevermind, it’s Drop which has always been the land of smoke and mirrors.
ps - Drop, you totally suck
Man, I bought these second hand so I can't write a review, but I just want to say - don't sleep on these! Playing through a Schiit Stack I'm getting ALL THE BASS but also lots of detail and air up top. I have had 58X/6XX as well as the Beyer HD177X GOs, but these are my new favorite Drop headphones for desktop listening. Relaxing when you want background but revealing when you want to get into it. Love them!
Drop has stooped to a new low. Jacking the price on these to $300 in order to make it appear that they’ve lowered the price for a sale all the while using the normal price. Drop, you suck donkey dick.
I have just received my Senneheiser 58X, and I am enjoying them. However, I realize I want the option of a bassier headphone, and I am considering these and sending them to modhouse for conversion to Argons. Is it worth it or there are other better or more affordable alternatives with the same or more bass extension?
Yup the blues are already a mod of Fostex t50rp, but if you look at the frequency responses for those 3(dekoni/fostex/modhouse) you can see that the driver really can't do subbass. Also you need a lot of power to drive them (recommended is at least 1000mw). For bassier headphones i would look at the meze 99 noir or beyerdynamic dt770
JohnAconThese are barely modded. Different pads, blue plastic and supposedly some sort of change to the baffle, but the Dekoni Blues have none of the type of internal mods you'd see for most t50 mods, so you definitely can send them to Modhouse to be fully modded and get some benefits. I would agree that OP would probably be better off with a dynamic driver headphone like the Meze 99 Noir if they want real bass impact.
