Didn't notice much difference to the OEM ones in terms of sound and comfort, I replaced them only because the OEM were falling apart and I'm happy with the Dakoni ones.
They're not perfect. The grain of the leather isn't consistant. So, there are soft and hard areas on the same ear pad. What's annoying is that basically my left ear pad, the leather grain is harder on the part that rests on my head and the softer grain is on the outside. It's a little more consistant on the right pad but not perfect. I was hoping for very thin and supple leather that squish a lot for an excellent seal. They're not. I guess you get what you pay for?
I got these pads for my LCD2 Classic. Although the stock pads are protein leather, they're softer and built better than the dekoni pads. Sound quality wise, can't tell the difference.
Stick with the stock pads. The price difference isn't worth it IMO.
Edit: I got the lambskin leather pads
I got Elite Velour for my Audeze LCD-2C headphones. After changing from the stock pads I love my LCD-2C's even more. Now they sound more detailed in trable and overall comfort improved very much.
Happy camper here. I got the Elite fenestrated sheepskin pads for my Audeze LCD2C's. They breathe a bit so the ears don't get quite so warm and the ventilation of the pads actually makes the headphones sound better. I find that big ol' planar headphones need to breathe a bit, from the pad side, to get the best sound out of them, rather than being in a vacuum, as these 2C's, with stock pads, created a vacuum on my head when I put them on and it seemed to somewhat constrain the sound. I am now experiencing more impactful low end, crisper highs, with slightly improved space. The 2C's are now more lively and energetic, to me....but still refined and precise, in typical planar fashion. These pads are a good buy if you have the 2C's. In my opinion, they make these already awesome headphones sound better. In addition, they look a little more high end with that nice vented leather...I added a photo for reference.
Amazing pads. I won't be buying pads from anywhere else from here on out. Came nicely packaged as well to prevent any damage. Easy to install just take off the protective tape and slap on the headphones after you've removed the pads they had on.
I got the vegan Valour pads, simply comfortable, and it feels like my head can breath easier and not feel so sealed. Also reduces the heat buildup that can cause the skin that contacts the ear pads to sweat because they're not leather/pleather.
Now I can't wait to order some IEM tips out of curiosity . Dekoni, keep up the great work guys!
Due to how Audeze installs their stock pads (very sticky glue/tape), the removal of the old pads took a little while, and my original pads tore on removal, but overall were not too bad. Installation of the new pads were very straightforward, just align and stick them on.
Comfort level has improved tremendously, fat, soft and cushy. Sounds good still.
