I wish MD would stop using Fedex Smartpost for shipping. Because it's anything BUT smart.
Case in point : I had a different drop that shipped a day after this. Sent via USPS. Just received it.
Fedex meanwhile is still languishing in Houston, with an expected delivery on Thursday, including the delay to hand it off to USPS. So why not just use them in the first place.
Yeah, it's irrelevant since we already waited a few weeks for the drop to go through logistics, but still annoying to follow in real time an inefficient shipping method :/
I notice the company is making an excellence plus as of March. If they are phasing out the Excellence that would explain the amazing price. We may have been sumgai
acolythe1I don't think they're phasing out the regular Excellence A, just offering a different style. Personally I prefer the regular A. The spring clip on the Plus is not as ascetically appealing to me, and unnecessary. I have no problem with the clip on the regular A.
phoenixsongThey are not in the same category. The Excellence is larger and heavier, snap cap vs. twist, C/C vs. piston and has a much larger nib. They are both excellent pens.
These are great pens. I have three Excellent A's, so this will be my fourth. Don't worry about the steel nibs, because they are nice and smooth. I also have an Aero, but I prefer the Excellence A's. This is also a great price, especially with the free shipping. All I need now is a red one and my color scheme will be complete.
got my Excellence A today. shipping ahead of estimated date. truly legendary stainless-steel nib. I'd probably budget for another Diplomat pen, rather than for a gold nib just for the sake of the material :)
