Versatile little speakers for $99, but also a fire hazard
These fit perfectly in my setup! I needed some small-ish speakers to hide under my monitor and these fit the bill. They also take a pre-amp which is awesome so I can use my DAC/amp and have a clean setup. I'm not a critical listener but they do the job for a $99 pair of desktop speakers. One major caveat however is that these speakers send sparks when I plug them in. I haven't burnt myself but it's a little odd that they do this every time I have to plug them back in, it worries me that these are a fire hazard. I wouldn't have to plug them in all the time if they included an off-switch
For $99 I'd say they're pretty good. I use them primarily as desktop speakers, and they do the job well enough for me. I do wish the grills came with at that price point.
These were exactly what I expected. These have enough oomph from a tight package to make me nod and say "impressive, not bad". I'm not an audiophile so I won't bore you with clever descriptions or technical comparisons.
The wire connecting the two speakers is short, just barely stretching around my single, 22" monitor. Drop later offered to send a free one, but shipping was too expensive for me to take up that now-expired offer. It wouldn't be hard to splice. There's no way to turn these off. I used a kill-a-watt and power usage isn't atrocious but it'd have been nice not to have it idling all the time. When not in use it's warm to the touch (not hot like some reviews I've seen), so it's sponging current.
This is a set of good all-around speakers, I use them for a bit of everything, from playing games to listening and creating music, and they sound pretty good. Obviously you won't get mind-blowing sound for this price, but they sound good enough for average ears like mine.
These speakers sound amazing! With the verticals design, they give a very tall sound, allowing to fill a decent sized room with a lot of sound. Independently the speakers are decent, but they really shine when you pair it with a DAC and Subwoofer unit. I’m using with an EPOS GSX 1000 DAC and a Kanto Sub8 Sealed Power Subwoofer, and it’s fire combination. The only downside of the speakers is the proprietary cable that connects the left and right speakers together is very short. Even separated on a decent sized desk. This is made more difficult especially if you like to hide and manage you cables. Overall, do your research before buying, and plan to purchase separate purchase a subwoofer and DAC with these amazing speakers.
I don't have real issues, and the speakers do deliver as promised. On the other hand, the sound quality is just below par. Not good enough for the money. I can not recommend this product.
The sound is not going to blow you away obviously. Pretty good for what they are and probably worth $100. Wish they came with a longer cable to connect the two speakers though. Forces me to use them sideways with my 2 monitor set up.
