Drop Ibara Slim Rinse Denim

By now, we’re no strangers to raw denim. Having teamed up with brands like Naked & Famous, Raleigh Denim, and USDG, we know what it takes to make a great pair of jeans—and the Drop Ibara Slim Rinse, our first solo denim project, is just that. Handcrafted in Japan from start to finish with fabric from Yoshiwa Mills (a boutique outfit that specializes in small-batch production), our jeans are filled to the brim with character. The fabric is a rare 15-ounce Japanese selvedge denim with three yarn widths for deep color and texture. The fit is an always-on-trend slim taper that’s as comfortable as it is flattering. Rounding out this everyday essential is YKK Japan hardware, a natural deerskin patch, and a classic double-selvedge button fly.

For our first pair of in-house jeans, we explored many options before landing on the perfect fabric: a 15-ounce Japanese selvedge denim with low tension, high character, and medium slub. Designed for quick break-ins and gorgeous wear patterns, the fabric comes from Japan’s Yoshima Mills, a well-known establishment for denim heads around the world. Woven with three different yarn widths, the denim has an open-face construction and a warp yarn variance that brings out excellent contrast. Though it weighs 15 ounces, it behaves more like a 19-ounce fabric in terms of texture, feel, and fades; and it behaves like a 12.5-ounce denim in terms of comfort. All in all, it has enough structure and depth for an elegant look, but becomes incredibly soft and buttery as you break it in.

The fit is just as important as the fabric in a great pair of jeans. That’s why we worked with some of the best developers and fit models in the denim industry to get the Drop Ibara Slim Rinse just right. Cut with a relaxed slim-taper fit, these jeans are easy to wear, highly complementary, and always on trend. They feature a roomy top block and thigh, an elegant taper from the thigh to the leg opening, and front pockets that are a good depth yet close to the body to keep your things in place. While these jeans will go on stiff, they’ll open up quickly with wear and a first wash.
