LOL_REKTI don’t want to play a game of assumptions but i was hesitant myself. I joined the drop just minutes after it was on and I felt hesitant for quite some time since I’m throwing such money on a pair of headphones. However, i know exactly what I’m getting and I believe it’s a bargain and a good deal. I did my homework long time ago and I got to know for sure that Mr. Speakers Ether C Flow is the only closed back headphones worth buying, for my taste. Ironically enough, I was telling a friend of mine that I wish Massdrop will sell the Ether C Flow, that was before the drop and now i regret not wishing a million dollars at the time. If you want to join, I would encourage you to go ahead if you know exactly what are you looking for. And BTW, the Aeons are not as good as the Ether IMO. Good luck
LOL_REKTFor the price, from what I know about the normal Ethers, its a great deal. The Flows are better, but then look at the price tag for Flows $1600.... I'd hope they are better for that price of nearly double. Which the Ether 2s at $2k that isn't much more, and I'm sure Ether 2 Cs will come out some day. Flows are on sligtly shaky ground atm. Soon as I saw this drop I didn't even question it. (Considering how average cell phones now a days are $900 that people replace every 2 years. When I'm at home, I have headphones on, my Hifimans get much more use then my P20. And I don't plan on replacing these ethers anytime soon)
LOL_REKTThere are newer headphones that came out this year like ether flow 2 and focal elegia first closedback headphones. I think the elegia ($899) is a better deal than the ether cx ($976 after tax). Elegia comes with headphone case with newer driver and voicecoil. Ether cx doesnt come with case and its a updated old tech. It just didnt make sense to go backwards when there is a ether flow 2 already out. If mr speakers set the price back $700 including the headphone case then I would of considered it. Focal actually set their prices back where elears are $700, clears $1100, uptopia $3000 at dealer sites. Both headphones look great but I rather choose the one with the newest updated tech. Elegia wins me over this based on value. I really want to try mr speakers headphones 1 day when its more afforable.
