FYI, for anyone considering these, I've owned the DN-1000 for merely a couple months now, and despite careful use, the cable above the y-splitter (particularly the portion connected to and exiting from the earpieces themselves) has become stiff over time. This raises concern for their longevity, since after all they don't feature a removable cable. A simple Google search for the phrase "dn-1000 stiff" yields similar findings on Head-Fi. Just a forethought.
P.S. Sound wise, they're worth every penny spent. Here's to hoping they last!

My cables are starting to stiffen near the earpieces. It's going to be a big problem later. Who do we talk to if we need help on this? Massdrop? DUNU?

Sorry to hear that. As per Massdrop's terms, I believe you must take it up with the manufacturer (DUNU); albeit in the case of an international brand, I'm not sure how easy that would be. If you don't mind me asking, how long was it before you noticed the cable stiffening?

I got mine in March. I noticed the stiffening about a month after. I emailed DUNU, and here's what they said:

Thank you for choose DUNU earphone product and sorry for bring you trouble.
We've informed of some stiff cable problem already, our engineer suggest as follows:
1. Try not to set the cable in hook all the time, it may speed up cable stiff, when don't listen, please take cable apart from the hook. 2. Clean cable with alcohol or water, because sweat and oil cause cable stiff.
As far as I concerned, many headphone face such problem, like Sennheiser, which I've had my IE80 cable changed twice.
Anyway we have 1 year warranty which cover the whole product, we can do the renewal of cable for you freely, the only problem is if you based outside the China, you need to bear the freight, please let me know your opinion.
Thank you again to support our product, we'll try to help you on every of your product problems.

This is a poor excuse for an otherwise poor choice of cable on DUNU's part. Question is, what after a year of ownership? If the cable is bound to become stiff over time, and is by no means an isolated incident, repair is all but necessary. Does that mean DUNU's cable isn't expected to last beyond the first year of ownership? I'm afraid that's just not good enough.
I've owned countless earphones that have lasted me several years, no cable repairs needed. Besides that, the IE80 is a poor example in this instance, as it features a removable cable; replacements costing as little as just under $11. Not to mention, I've owned the IE80 (& IE8) for many years, and in fact my original cable is still fully in-tact.
DUNU is going to have to do better...

Agreed. I really do like the sound of the DN1000, but the stiff cable makes me regret my purchase. If I could do it all over, I would have never made my purchase. I paid $177 for mine after shipping and tax, so I would expect nothing but the highest quality. It's unfortunate that this is not the case. I wish I could return these for a refund and get something else that's more durable.
