The pricing seems very off bc I'm seeing prices as high as 1.6k, so more like 50% off not 300% not 85% off

My father was a Hamilton fan too, back then they just another American watch company, good, but not considered fancy. I agree with you about Alpina, and what about Certina as well? So many brands, so many watches--it's a lot for the average Joe to keep up with!

I'm surprised that Alpina doesn't show up here. They make high quality watches at reasonable prices. It's not a common brand in the US, which I think is a plus. I think of them as a prudent man's IWC. I have a vintage Hamilton from the 1960s my dad gave me in HS. This was of course long before they were part of Swatch and still manufacturing in the US. My dad liked the brand from his army days in WWII.
