The Edox Delfin Fleet 1650 is inspired by a 17th-century Dutch trade ship. Called the Tijger, Dutch for “tiger,” the ship was part of the East India Trading Company and set sail in the early 1650s Read More
This is a nicely done vintage tribute. It looks and feels just like the original line but better! The high domed crystal, the case, and the wonderful 70's dial look. I had a few friends actually think it was a vintage watch at first glance. Vintage look modern components, it doesn't get much better (not to mention the price!).
I love this watch - it’s got a wonderful retro-inspired design, it’s very legible, and it’s size, and lug design make it extremely comfortable to wear. My only beef is with its accuracy. It runs rather fast, on the order of several minutes a week. While tolerable, it is frustrating. I’m no stranger to automatic and mechanical timepieces, so I know quartz precision is unrealistic, yet this watch is less reliable than any of my other watches. I’m sure a competent watchmaker could regulate it and get it close to COSC spec, so I doubt it’s a fatal flaw. And, given the absurdly low price paid for this on Drop, the minor inconvenience is just that - minor.
Slightly 1 year on, this watch has stopped functioning. Internal sounds indicate a breakage rather some sort of seizure.
I really like the design and historical connection with past divers though and hope the service experience offsets the short lifespan of the Edox mechanicals.
