With a crisp and responsive tactile bump at the top and a cushy feeling when bottoming out, the Everglide Oreo mechanical switches are a joy to type on. Rated for 50 million presses, Oreos have a smokey housing and clear stems for a sweet two-toned look Read More
MechEngI've got both in my keyswitch tester. The Oreo has a more rounded bump than the Everglide Dark Jade (meaning the Dark Jade has a sharper and more tactile bump than the Oreo), and has a slightly lower pitched sound. They're also a bit scratcher. I'd rank Oreo --> Holy Panda --> Dark Jade in terms of tactility (with the Oreos and Pandas closer together than the Dark Jades).
Just for reference, to me the Dark Jades feel more tactile than Holy Pandas/Gazzew U4Ts etc. and are actually TOO tactile, if anything. The actuation force and sharp actuation itself, along with the scratchiness makes these fatiguing to type fast on.
MechEngI also have both, MechEng describes them very well. I had the Dark jades first. Love them but they are pretty loud to use in public so I was looking for like the Dark Jades Little brother and the Oreos are perfect! BUT they need to have films in them, without them they dont sound or feel nearly as good
these are okay switches, not amazing but pretty cheap and works.
Bought these off AliExpress for less (Canadian) and it shipped in a couple weeks. Not sure these are worth waiting for
kmj442Yes, the 2 contacts on the bottom of the mechanical keyswitch are identical across a majority of the entire industry w/ a few exceptions. A few of the keys on the board are inserted reverse (believe the space bar & major lower/raise mods), but there are still all the same standard contact holes in the pcb these switches would use.
Anyone else having the issue where some caps don't fit very tightly on the stems & slip off?? I have a few keys I've already noticed that if I press them with a good amount of pressure, I can see cap slide up. It's not on all the caps but so far I have about 3-4 I can notice it really bad on and there's a video online where the guy has this same problem. And my caps are SA kaps too btw
erikv801Some MX keycaps specs are slightly different from each other. If you have a preferred switch but your preferred colorway is loose try to find the keycap set colorway in GMK which I always feel is tighter than the modern cherry clone specs we see produced.
