Close enough to gerbil to turn me off. Jeez lately it's absurd 1000$ up odd models and crappy low end Macy's left overs. At least with the Japanese offerings you know what you're getting. I'll be patient.

Tried to look up the movement maker. I got to the their website but absolutely no information about this movement from them. Went into another site that claims it's a re-decorated Miyota 8200 series. Sorry, but this watch is a big pass for me. It's being marketed like an Invicta (not a good thing) with an astronomical retail price and then 80% off. But if you like this Gevril design go for it. It doesn't look all that bad.

roamy360There no Miyota 8200 (Japan mov't) because "Swiss made" on the dial.

redMouseYou might be right. But if 60% of the watch is produced in Switzerland then they can claim Swiss Made. And I'm sure if that 60% is the value of the watch or not. But if everything but the movement is Swiss and they throw in a $50 Japanese movement and regulate it there, then I think they can say Swiss Made. Plenty of German companies making "German Made" watches using Swiss Movements.

That’s aggressively ugly to go along with the silly Invicta pricing.

300m is 660ft, not 200m. Close enough that it honestly won't make any difference for 99% of the people who will be wearing this watch anyway.
