The newest iteration of Glycine’s Airman is the Airman 42. Originally designed for pilots, it’s found a wider audience since its release in the 1950s, not only for its unique design—the dial is numbered all the way through 24 in intervals of 2, with the 12th numeral at the 6 o’clock position—but also for its ability to display second and third time zones. Plus, the dial has that simple aesthetic that has long proven popular among enthusiasts. Crafted with a stainless steel case, the Airman 42 houses Glycine’s Swiss GL293 movement with a 42-hour power reserve. It also features a bi-directional rotating bezel that locks down with the crown at 4. As for the hands, they’re a bit chunkier on this version, with Super-Luminova for visibility. The watch is water resistant to a solid 100 meters, to boot.
