I was hoping this watch would come up again, and the white dial and 42mm dia is just perfect; love the cardinal hour numerals and overall simplicity with great power reserve. Almost going to pull trigger on a Seiko Prospex Alpinist at not much more money; but really would like this watch. Just waiting to see if Drop can shed some light on the problem with international deliveries at present, before I order again!!
Lol Massdrop has become a dumping ground for unwanted products masquerading as an "enthusiasts driven" project. I got the 38 mm one for 240 bucks from Ashford 3 weeks ago. Guess what ? Ashford provides a better customer service and actually honor their sellers warranty.
The watch itself is excellent value for money and is well built. Mine lost only 25 seconds in 3 weeks ! That's near chronometric standards.
Literally get this from JS or Ashford and save some 50 odd bux.
What a sellout Massdrop has become.

VikgomatHow does the 38mm look huge in the wrist shots here? I'm sure those aren't tiny wrists. I know photos can make look bigger, but damn! If not for the date window placement I would think is the 42.
Michael451Well, my wrist is about 7 inches in circumference. However, it is tubular and doesn't have a flat surface. Also, the dial is quite big in relation to the overall size of the watch. And you can see that the bezel is quite narrow compared to other watches.
Just bought the 5151 on Ashford for $289. I see they are up to $495 today. Wow! I didn’t know it fluctuates like that. I was hoping to recommend a better price than drop. Maybe they will go down again?
Anyhow, even at 38mm (the version I bought because I wanted the SS bracelet) it has very good, comfortable presence. Super visibility and the lume is great. Sandwich dial has great contours and depth. Mine came in a cool travel pod, as well. Highly recommended! Love it!
Note: you probably caught it, but this watch is a Red Bull Air Race edition and the display case back is tattooed with the Red Bull Race logo. I wanted something less formal- like a cooler field watch. This is it. See pics. I also compared it to my Gruppo Gamma Venturo. Both have (more the GG) have that Panarai clarity and simplicity.
ZoeesteatmisIt fluctuates like that because this is an Ashford drop, when they put up a drop they raise their prices on most of their native sites, although you may find that watchgooroo on eBay (also Ashford) may keep their prices down. Some people are averse to buying on eBay so it's kind of insulated, but a large portion of the Drops lately, Glycine, this Hamilton, the other Hamilton RR Classic, are Ashford Drops, and the easiest way to tell, is what their pricing does. If it coincidentally goes up on the very day of the Drop, well that makes it kind of obvious right?
That's a handsome watch at a killer price (and to think folks are buying Sheilds for about the same)!
Congratulations--and don't forget to post a few wrist shots when it arrives ;- )
