Really, unnecessarily rude. Lot of that going around in this site/forum. Tons of !!! and "I already know thats" . Some things are proprietary, Drew did his best to answer how he is able. Oh and they're $89. Just try them...jeesh.
One thing I didn't know I needed until after I got my Galaxy Buds was low latency Bluetooth. It would be very helpful for me if Drop included that specification in Bluetooth listings. aptX appears to be the primary technology for low latency which the spec page for these earbuds does specify they have so that's great.
AllforhonorHello,
Do you make the same comment everywhere? I saw you making this exact comment in the BGVP wired iem post 😂🤦♀️
and to be honest I find your comment to be self-contradicting like an inside joke.
@DrewChowen Just wanted to say that I've been a TWS holdout for quite some time (tried a few, wasn't impressed, and went crying back to my wires begging for forgiveness); but seeing your activity on the forum and positive impressions on customer service has convinced me to give it another go.
Thanks for the hard work - it really is appreciated!
shorkordeThanks. I too was (have been?) a skeptic about wireless and tiny designs being able to reproduce audio I actually WANT to listen to, but there are some good ideas happening in the space. Before I worked with HELM I was a customer who heard some designs and was VERY curious about how they managed to do it. It's cool stuff for sure.
Was wondering about the sound signature on these. I personally love my etymotics, and would love to have a truly wireless option with similar sound quality. Would these come close ? Thanks.
SmooshyI'm with the company so this is going to sound biased, but just as someone who spends a lot of time with BeyerDynamic DT770's or AudioTechnica ATH-M50x's, the TW5's hold their own (in an IEM form factor.) The first time I heard the TW5's I couldn't believe how full and solid the low end felt. They made me hate some of my other "casual listening" headphones, especially other wireless ones.
I'm disappointed in these. Just got my set today and there is a REAL distinct buzz in the right earbud. I'm gonna give them a little time to burn in but I'm not super impressed with the sound. Pity, they fit really nicely and the reviews are pretty good. @DrewChowen are these gonna improve or did I just get a bum set?

Update, got the new pair and they work great. Honest to goodness these are pretty close to my favorite pair of earbuds now and I'd buy another pair. The only real issue that I'm seeing is that the bluetooth pairing is maybe a second slower than my jaybirds. That being said between helm's customer service, the product's sound quality, battery life, and range (I was halfway down the block from my second floor apartment before I'd realized I'd forgotten my phone) I'd definitely buy these again and if I was a fancy person with money I'd buy these as a gift.
ShilohTDThat's awesome, glad to hear you're happy! Thanks for your comments too - we work really hard to get products like the TW5's out to market and deliver the support users need, and it's great to hear that users enjoy listening to music and audio on HELM gear. We've got some really cool products getting ready to hit here in 2020 - and we believe the TW5's are just the "foot in the door." Stay tuned!
Ok, just received another Helm package direct from Helm Canada and this one seems to behave slightly differently than what I got from drop, so I'm guessing I got the 4.0 version and Helm shipped me the correct one. Problem solved! Excellent customer service!
1564486997You can use a single headphone if you need to, however we do suggest that if you use a single headphone you remove that headphone from the case first every time you use the TW5’s, even when using both headphones. (Some smartphones prefer consistent pairing to the same headphone every time. When things start to swap pairing from left to right - whichever headphone is removed first typically becomes the primary Bluetooth connection for the pair - some smartphones experience connection issues.)
@DrewChowen
If this drop is missed & it does well, am I to presume it will remain at the $89 pricepoint when it comes back?
Please confirm.
Hope you have a great day !
Hi Shok, we're going to get in touch with Drop right away and get this sorted out. I'm really sorry about this but we'll make sure get you the correct model ASAP. I will update when I have more info.
