In earphones, expressive sound and cost-effectiveness rarely go hand in hand. In the MS2 from Hidizs—part of the aptly named Mermaid Series—that rarity is a reality. It starts with a blend of customized and curated drivers. Each MS2 earphone features a custom-tuned 10.2-millimeter dynamic driver for punchy and precise lower frequencies, as well as a Knowles 33518 balanced armature for clear and natural-sounding higher frequencies. The MS2’s class-leading audio is also owed to its circuitry, where AVX Tantalum capacitors provide impressive responsiveness and reliability while minimizing distortion. Completing the package is a signal-optimizing four-core cable made from two cores of high-purity silver wires, plus two cores of high-purity, oxygen-free copper wires.
