http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/HiFiMANHE400.pdf --- Impedance is ~ 50 ohms on these, and 90dB SPL is reached at a measly 0.33mW (by my shoddy math, ~94/95dB SPL per mW). The numbers say they should sound good with any amping at all.

ETGTEI'm sure they do, but being planar magnetic they can take a LOT of wattage. I'm thinking of doing the speaker amp mod with a cable from BTG. http://www.head-fi.org/t/629352/he-500-lcd2-d5000-dt770-sr80-on-a-speaker-amp-emotiva-mini-x-a-100-project<br /><br />He used the HE-500 (which I'm considering turning these around once I get them and then getting the 500's from Razor Dog for $600.) However, the HE-400s would still work well with this mod as per reviewed in the thread.
