Would really like to try these out, but im begining to have way too many IEMs in my pocket. Just bought shuoer tape. And already have the FDX01 how do these compare. Does the aten have more clarity and rumble bass?
Hi, i dont know the FDX1 but "bass(rumble feel) and vocals" is what IMR is ALL about. The quality and the quantity of bass & sub bass is insane (with the black lower and black upper filter) The Aten dynamic driver itself is exceptional for vocals. Only you can know what you will like but there is no doubt the Aten are a seriously legendary IEM. The ONLY reason I sold mine to finance the next release the IMR Rah IEM. Ive kept the IMR RED 2 though as an audiophile IEM. there is plenty to read about on Head fi about the Atens. Ive owned 6 different IMR IEMs. They are all class leading and exceptional
I've always wanted to buy this but something always came up. This time it is taxes. Got close to being overdrawn. Payday is soon but I'll have to wait for the next drop.
My R2 Atens have definitely wet my appetite for the IMR sound signature. I would be in for another one of the recently closed out offerings (e.g. PB One), if we can get Drop’s discounted pricing.
Will they be suitable and comfortable for mountain bike?
My source is opus #2?
I have senhiesser ie800 but itseems to me that they are fack i bought them 2 years ago at 200$

IEMs (On a whole) are a dangerous proposition for bike riding, as they’ll make you oblivious to car horns and other audible warnings. Specific to the IMR Atens, they’re open back; so they’ll Whistle in the wind.
There’s no earphone that’s going to survive the rigors of real mountain biking, where at some point you’ll eat dirt. For casual riding on hard pavement, there are helmets that come with built in speakers; which will allow you to hear your surroundings, but their lack of isolation will greatly diminish their sound quality.
LGCiThey are open back so at the street it is advantage.
How loud will be the wind wistle? I mostly ride techanical trails at low speed, i hope the wistle will not overide the music.
They seems to be robust more than senheisser ie800.
The reviews are good and also the price.
I think i will take the chance and try them.
I don't know about this Price though, for $75 more I can get a Westone B50 and have it shipped in a week. Plus isn't it the same owners who ripped off a lot of people? I'm kinda on the fence with these.
cisco245I have a friend who has these, and after trying them they are definitely worth it. I know there is bad blood about their history, and I understand principles but their quality and customer service is not what people remember them for. I know it has left a sour taste in the mouths of many, and I am not defending their prior actions, especially as I was not part of the group that got burned. Even so, this is a solid product and I really hope one more person gets this in the next 3 days because this truly is my endgame IEM after trying my friend's.
Shipping was estimated to be July 29, 2020. For the early July offering
July 13: Fedex is in possession of my IMR Aten, ETA July 16th
Then as per IMR: 100hrs run in time is required for optimum sound reproduction.
AlltheheadphonesYou can actually find an exceptional good balance using purple bottom and gold tops in general. With the filters you can find whatever sound signature you like all be it within the IMR house sound
I can't add a review as I bought mine direct from IMR. But I just have to say that these earphones are amazing. The soundstage is terrific and the customizing nozzles let you tune to your preference. They do need a long turn in and improve over time. At the price that Drop has them for $225 they are an absolute steal. They'll compete with earphones many times more expensive. Highly recommended.
