Keep your beverages hotter for longer without springing for an ugly mug or thermos with these double-wall cups from JoyJolt. Available in two sizes, in sets of two or four, the cups feature a double-wall insulated construction of borosilicate glass Read More
I purchased these to go along with Joy Jolt Double walled drinking glasses. I don't use them for every day but was able to use them when I had guests for dinner, and they are a bit of a conversation piece. I hand washed them and do not plan on putting them in the dishwasher so I cannot comment on their durability. They look great and will obviously match any dinnerware you have since they are clear and have no design. Exactly what I wanted.
I love these mugs. Look And work great. I actually did a head to head test with these mugs vs standard cups. Using a very accurate thermometer I measured the temperature at different time intervals in both cups. After 10 minutes the coffee in these insulated mugs was 10° higher than in the standard mugs. Science always wins.
Excellent lightweight glass. Keeps beverages warm. Only complaint is that they are shaped in a way that easily spills when walking and the lip is thick and is also a bit prone to spilling. All in all a great glass with a few small issues that would improve it.
The only reservation is that due to the shape of the inside of the cup, you have to alter the way you drink or you will spill the beverage on yourself. It's a minor adjustment and worth making for the benefit of having contents stay warm longer.
It is OK, not a mug I love. I have some narrow (er) porcelain mugs which keeps drinks just as warm. (the narrow opening is key) My issue with this design has to do with the wider opening which distributes the liquid in a wider area, so much so, I have to be careful not to spill pass my lips...
These would generally keep my drinks warm/colder for longer than a traditional mug but they were way too fragile. One of them shattered within the first two weeks when I was doing the dishes and a spoon slipped out of my grip and smacked the upper lip of the mug. The other lasted much longer but likely because I was more conscious of it's fragility. It eventually shattered when I went from filling it with a cold beverage to a hot one too quickly.
