Got the white sage scent, which is exactly what it smells like in the tin. Upon application, the scent is very faint, and disappears rapidly, even when applied VERY liberally.
Package was quite pungent, so there was a leak somehow. Got the White Sage variety. The perfume's smell isn't great — very woodsy, but not in the best way. It also doesn't last very long.
After a couple wears, especially since it was starting to smell up my bathroom, I threw it out.
Edit:
8 weeks down the line, and this stuff can’t last more than a few seconds. The scent smells different than when I first opened the tin. I’m a bit disappointed. Downgrading my review from 4 stars to 3 stars.
This stuff is very strong. Even the parcel was soaked in this stuff.
As for the scent itself, Desert Cedar, it smells pretty nice.
I don't really like it, but it's not outrageous or dull. It has notes of pear. It smells like an auto repair shop or fresh tires. Not the best thing to have in a cologne, imo.
I got my bucks' worth.
These have a very strong scent directly from the tin, but they dissipate fairly quickly. That being said, white sage was pleasant to catch through a breeze or a movement. On the other hand, the cedar scent always came off as inappropriate as a cologne, as it smells just like cedar wood with very minute undertones.
When I applied the scent to my body, it seemed that the scent wore off of me almost immediately. Not in the way where I got used to the smell so it was no longer personally noticeable, in the way that my significant other had no idea I had applied a scent just minutes prior. In hindsight, I suppose that worked out pretty good. I agree with another commenter that the desert cedar scent is odd when applied to a person. I had not considered that it might work better as a room scent, so I tried that and the reaction I got was that my car smelled like a rotting forest... I guess in hindsight, it was good that my significant other was unable to smell it moments after I put it on.
I feel like the problem is that they are using the same scents for candles as they do for cologne and in theory the desert cedar smell like a scent that you may desire in a cologne, but in practice it smells kinda weird. I'm not an expert but I think for cologne you want to smell like a feeling (sexy, manly, attractive, confident etc etc etc) instead of a scent that is like potpourri used to deodorize your toilet. not saying that these smells are bad, but just arent the right ones for a solid perfume/cologne
Well I have to say I'm rather dissatisfied i got the costal pine the scent discrimination was yes I know pine but talked about citrus under tones but it's just pine tree I mean I could just snap a pine twig off and rubbed some pine sap if I strictly wanted to smell like a pine tree and everyone I've had smell it it's just overwhelming pine and that's it it will definitely be thrown in a drawer I wish I'd grabbed a different scent
