Combining two of its most popular switch designs—BOX and Cream—Kailh has created a new switch that’s both durable and a joy to press. It’s called the Kailh BOX Cream, and it features the same design as the linear Cream, with Kailh’s BOX housing for extra protection Read More
Oh man, it's butter-smooth. I showed these to my 63-year-old father, and I said "Hey look, dad! Box Creams!" and handed him one. Well, his eyesight isn't too good anymore, and he thought I said Brach's. I'm sure you can see where this is going. He popped one into his mouth and attempted to chew it, confirming that it is, indeed, a creamy and delicious switch, and not at all made of plastic hard enough to nearly break a tooth on. Honestly, though, you guys should sell white chocolate-coated espresso beans in this shape and color. These things look way too tasty not to be food.
These are some light linears. Think MX Reds, but smoother. Way smoother. Like butter, even right out of the box without any lube. However, unlubed, these have a very faint spring ping. Some Krytox 205 makes it glide even better, and eliminates the ping. With a tape mod, you'll get a pretty deep thock. The actual switch on the inside is shrouded and appears to have a light touch of factory-applied grease. While you can mess with it, it's not necessary. A little on the spring and sides of the stem, and you're golden.
I truly love the feel of these switches, but definitely require lubing for them to feel and sound their best. I like the switch paired with a polycarbonate case best.
Ok switch. I lubed all switches with 205g0 but doesen't feal nearly as smooth as my Tangerine switches. The sound is nice thoigh and there is very little wobble in the switch.
They're great switches. None came damaged or anything. I can definitely see how people would love these. Mine do have a noticeable friction-like sound, but I didn't notice any switch being inconsistent with the others. Definitely worth checking out if you want a switch as is without having to open it up.
Great switch, the design makes it so that it feels very stable. Afaik these are factory lubed, and even though you could get them to feel a bit smoother these feel great stock and honestly don't require any extra lube.
