Great blanket with many uses!

I always keep this in my car trunk for whenever I might need it! It's been used as a picnic blanket many times and it is perfect! the size and how it is so compact makes it so much better to use. it has a bit of cushion so it is comfortable and is very easy to wash.

Lightweight, durable blanket for camping and picnics

This blanket is a well made blanket which excels in car camping and picnic situations. It is too heavy to be used while backpacking or anywhere that weight/packability are a concern. It is relatively water resistant, but I would not recommend putting it down over top of significant mud or a puddle. I have not used it to sleep underneath as insulation, but I would think it would be functional into the low 60's as insulation. We use it as a picnic blanket and a blanket for our dog to lay on while car camping! Recommend for the price!

Not bad all things considered

We have put our Kelty Bestie BFF through its paces ... We keep one in the truck and it’s seen some time down range with our granddaughter. The lining has ripped away a lil’ - not quite sure how.... For the money it’s an excellent go anywhere blanket that holds up pretty well & when it’s no longer mission ready can be replaced knowing that you’ve more than got your money’s worth! Hopefully there’s another run coming soon...

Great additional blanket for camping

Brought this for recent tent camping trip, to be used as cover on top of air mattress and during night as temperature dropped to about 5 degrees (Australian southern states during spring), I wrapped it around my sleeping bag and gave me the extra warmth required, I’m sure it would operate very well as a picnic blanket not sure about it’s water proofness as I didn’t test this but others have questioned its ability in their reviews, I was very happy with what I used mine for. It came with a set of pegs to secure it to the ground through loops on each corner (this was a surprise inclusion for me Pros: light and warm Packed away in its own attached pouch Easily transported Orange & Teal color make it easy to find Quality construction

First impression was good but not at all water resistant.

The description touts that this, "functions as a blanket and a tarp" and, "prevents water and moisture from seeping through". Those statements are outright lies from some marketing idiot. I used this "blanket/tarp" on damp grass and the water was not only seeping through, but pooling wherever we sat on the blanket. To state this clearly, the water would come through the blanket, and then not go back and pool on the top side. Yes the "tarp" side was to the ground. I purchased both designs offered and both did this. If you are going to be on dry grass or at the beach, sure its an ok blanket and its nice that it can be staked out. My main reason for my purchase was because it was supposed to be waterproof on one side, which it isn't. Disappointed with Kelty and with Drop for promoting fraudulent marketing claims.
