Planar Magnetics With Striped Wood Cups
The flagship headphone from Russia’s Kennerton, the Odin features huge, 80-millimeter planar-magnetic drivers and gorgeous wood ear cups that are sanded and polished in house by hand. Made from scratch by Kennerton, the drivers deliver phase coherence and flat impedance. And thanks to their powerful magnets and low-mass diaphragm, they have a greater sensitivity and can be easily driven by portable devices. The rugged housing is designed with as much thought and precision, and crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum and steel and striped sapele wood. The headband’s double-strap design distributes weight evenly and is adjustable via a pair of risers and knobs. Complete with lambskin leather ear pads, the Odin comes with a 6.6-foot detachable mini-XLR cable and, for travel, a soft zippered case.
