Any idea how it compares to the REI Flex Lite chair that is basically same price right now? Based on specs, this Kovea chair is rated for 330lbs vs 250 for the REI chair, but the Kovea weighs half a pound more. They seem kind of the same otherwise.
SteveChanI seem to remember hearing that REI rotated the feet on their chair so the pivot is front to back after complaints about the side to side. I have a $35 knockoff and my bf has a $50 knockoff, both front-to-back pivot. The only difference we've found is that the middle piece of fabric on his is slightly bigger so you're sitting in the chair a little further. Mine feels a little flatter, like I can never fully relax into it, but I just sit leaning forward, elbows on my knees, to adjust.
FWIW, the selling point on mine was adjustable-length legs. His came with separate giant feet for use in sand or mud. We decided the feet aren't really necessary. I like my adjustable legs for uneven ground, but one of them readjusts itself periodically, so I'm not sure it's worth the price.
Is it weird that I can only find this chair on eBay? There are so many of these types of chairs between $50-$120, there’s no way to tell if this is a good deal or not.
dontreallycare2@dontreallycare2 - we are the first ones in the US to have access to this chair. Anything on Ebay is likely coming from Korea. This is a high quality chair that is very comfortable, and the side-to-side pivot is really nice. I sat it in for an hour at Outdoor Retailer.
