ChimairaSpawnHow's it? I'm interested in going for the one with an acrylic handle :)

phoenixsongIt gets the job done, and holds an edge really well. I will say that it's nicer than the 8" Henckels Chef knife that I have for everyday use. That being said, I find the blade to be thicker and heavier than what I was expecting. I think the Rosewood is a nice accent to the full tang, so I can't vouch for how an acryllic handle would look, but I definitely have confidence in the brand and the next knife I get will be a Lamson.

I have no idea if this is a good deal, but this is a good knife. I do most of the cooking in our home; I've had many knives, from ceramics to Wusthoff to Shun; I'll freely admit to not having the privilege of using any super high end kitchen knives; but for 30 years, this has remained my go to, workhorse knife. It feels great in my hands... probably personal preference... I've bought dozens of pocket knives (more than a few on this site) and never felt the need to get another chef's knife. (The Shun, a gift, is in the block, but it's been a disappointment.) Always open to suggestions, though!
