I bought it at half of the price everywhere so it was a real deal even being a small speaker. Terrific sound and good options when you pair to your LG Music Flow phone app.
I am utterly disappointed with this speaker. I don't even know where to start. First the build quality. The photos make it look super sturdy and large when in fact it's rather flimsy, bendy and small. While pairing was effortless that's about where good things end for this thing.
Initially it paired under AAC codec which I had to manually force into aptx. They say on the box that they support aptxHD except I could never get them to work in that mode. Always defaulted to regular aptx. This is paired with an LG v30+ which supports aptxHD as well as Sony LDAC. Tried and tested on other gear and sound phenomenal.
The sound quality is amongst the worst I've ever heard. A $20 Anker speaker sounded better than this. The highs are non existent. The mids are muffled and the lows are no where to be heard. They literally made everything sound horrible that I would rather use my phone speaker instead.
The clear voice and extra bass dsp settings did absolutely nothing good to the sound. One made the volume slightly lower while the other one made the sound muddier. I honestly don't know how a speaker can sound this bad. It's utterly atrocious.
Most of the money manufacturing this unit was spent on the LEDs that light up in the grille that flashes according to the beat of the music. Very childish feature and adds no value whatsoever to their performance. I suppose these would look cool at a college party but don't expect anyone to be blown by their sound.
I got this unit to throw in the garage for when I'm working to replace a mini stereo amp and bookshelf speakers for convenience and now I just want to put them on eBay and sell them at a loss as I simply don't want them in my house.
If you care about listening to music and experiencing decent quality sound then I highly recommend that you save your money and get something else. These were a waste of money and a sad excuse of a speaker.
OK sound but might be something bass heads would love
The sound is OK-ish, but even with the treble increased, the sound is a tad bit too artificial to my liking. Great for boomy bass tracks but I think that's just about sums it up.
I really like this speaker. I can throw it around and not really worry about it which is great. I've thrown it in a bag with a 2 liter aluminum waterbottle and the most is just some paint scratches. I have used it as a car radio when driving a car without one. Only things that I would like more is a higher waterproofing level and maybe a usb port to use as a phone charger. Those are pretty big things to ask from a $50 speaker though
