Letting mine go for $750 shipped (sorry, ConUS only) if anyone is interested. ~5-6 hours of total use in new condition. It's the Fallout Worn version and all the accessories & cable are still brand new. Hit me up at my username at gmail if interested. Also posted my thoughts on the Model X vs Aether here (https://drop.com/buy/limeears-aether-r-universal-fit-iem-drop-exclusive/talk/2699075) if anyone is interested.
Curious about these, but also still curious about the different colored (gold/brass) nozzle on the Autumn version. Also, additional pics would be great; maybe some real-world, non-studio shots.
Thanks, so the Autumn Forest does actually have a brass nozzle. Wondering how this affects the tuning vs the aluminum nozzle of the other 2 colorways (assuming I'm able to hear the small difference it would make).
rantngMeasurements of both verstions of nozzles are exactly the same from what we've tested. People's thoughts are different than that tho, so its really hard to evaluate. I'd say it should make too big of a difference to make you like or hate the IEM, but that's just our opinion :)
Hey folks, wrote a review of the uni Model X on THL, we also have a review of the custom version for interest. For me personally, this was my intro to the company Lime Ears and it was quite a pleasant surprise, I think they offer very good performance and value even at their elevated cost.
I also compared it to an industry favourite, the CFA Andromeda, where I found the Model X to provide just slightly less detail retrieval but overall, a more balanced and transparent sound with similar fullness when the bass switch is activated. It doesn't have the magical staging properties of that earphone nor its gorgeous design but does undercut the price with a strong focus on the sound quality aspect.
Here're my measurements, I'm using the same setup as Crin so will have similar results, just note the scaling and ~8K peaks can be due to resonances in my measurement system as I didn't find these piercing at all. Hope this helps some potential buyers curious about the Model X as Lime Ears doesn't seem to have the market presence of some big names but definitely deserve a listen in my opinion, cheers!
Not gonna sell unless a much better price. They need to price aggressively to get more of a following in the wider non audiophile community and grow from there...silly price
I purchased the K10 customs 3 years ago or so (I will never ever buy a noble product again they have the worst customer service in the world - i had to pay to ship it back a 2nd time for repair after their first repair didnt work). I also understand you can find bargain and not pay for brand, I bought the custom A6 like 9 years ago when 1964 was an unknown brand and it was their flagship. I'm just making the point that if they want to be successful on this platform they need to prie more aggressively to build reputation. I think lots of companies have to take losses or lower margins to scale and get brand recognition - customer acquisition in a competitive market with it being hard to differentiate can be costly, and they aren't selling.
Crin gave these an an A and a good all rounder so on that it's probably worth the money but there are many that won't buy it due to competition. The best thing for Lime would be to send review units out or make a cheaper item to build a fan base.
I know driver amount, type is not everything but to would be buyers there are more appealing options for less money.
For instance I'm not venturing into that price bracket but I didn't even know Lime Ears was a company.
On the other side of the coin I know thieaudio and have had the Legacy 3, 9 and probably the clairvoyance will be next. So a started low and worked my way up.
